I've seen similar behaviour in the past with my own snake, and they'll even go after the phone when it's off or when it's cold, and theyre only interested in the tv when its off (its an old tv that get quite warm). Which leads me to believe it may have something to do with the phone being reflective, as my snake's two obsessions have always been phone screens and a set of brass wind chimes we keep in the living room.

my favorite type of animal is the kind where you can see the two solitary braincells bonking around on the inside of their skulls, like that one old MacOS screensaver or the logo on every old DVD player. Frank is a beautiful example of this phenomenon. Thank you for sharing her with so many people! I have a leopard gecko with a similar, uh, level of intellect. He’s called Pebble and his favorite smell is cardboard cupholder from McDonald’s. Perhaps Frank would enjoy this also?
