My personal "old" iOS device that I prefer is my 3rd gen touch. It was from before the time when Apple started actively crippling the iPod touches (the 4th gen touch has only 256MB of RAM, for example) so it's basically a full fledged 3GS where it matters and that thing screams through iOS 5.1.1. I adore the crap out of the little thing.

I have an iPad 2 that I downgraded to 6.1.3 and it does it's job pretty well. Aside from me not being able to restore any purchases in apps or they just crash, it's a really nice way to play old games tat the newer models don't support.

Thats the neat thing with age old Android Versions. If its Android 8 or newer, everything works. If its 6 or 7 most things still work. And if its even older you can still sideload most things. The problem with iOS even if you get one of these you still can't get these oldschool Apps.

What’s surprising is I have a Galaxy Tab 3 10.3 from 2013 and it is UTTERLY USELESS, no App Store, no modern browser, email app doesn’t work, even the damn weather widgets don’t update anymore. It’s actually insane how much more usable this OLDER iPad is than the Tab 3, which rarely got any updates itself.

I still feel nostalgic over iOS 7, 8, 9, and 10 to an extent. After that iOS felt like the same old same old, even if it looks ever closer to Android these days. Maybe that's because back in the iOS 7 days the new look was fresh, but I still think it looks nice with the gradients and such. Nothing beats iOS 4-6 though.

I used an old tiny Smasnug phone and I was surprised to see it run smoother than my chinese phone. It was my last resort after I dropped my then new phone, but it ran better. Phones are like shoes. If you buy cheap(chinese) ones you end up spending more than if you got an expensive Smasnug which lasts for years

Aw man seeing the first ever iPad brought back some fond memories. Me and my older brother had iPads and we loved them despite how trashed and laggy they were. I had a mini and he had a 1st Gen, and we would always play Minecraft and sometimes Roblox on them, and even with our cousin. I remember a huge inconvenience was the fact that the Mini had lightning while the 1st Gen had 30 pin, so everytime one of us would lose our chargers, we couldn’t just use each others One day he forgot the password for it, and we were never able to open it ever again, and we soon lost it.

I actually use a 64 gig 4th gen iPod touch with 6.1 on it everyday for music at work with my Koss Portapro's or SR80's. It holds up pretty well to be honest. Nothing quite like the iOS 6 music player. It needs a new home button but for 8 bucks at the Goodwill, frig yeah Mr.Lahey.

You don’t necessarily have to go to the settings app to control the brightness just double tap the home button on the Home Screen and swipe then a widget and controls will appear and among one of the controls is brightness

It's a shame that Safari is updated through system software updates rather than just as an app store app. A crappy slow device is way more useful if it can actually render web pages correctly. my main device was an ipod touch 5 on ios 84.1 thru 9.3.5 for FAR longer than it was okay to use, but jailbreaking and coolbooter letting me use ios 6 has it useful again. in FACT, its the only device that reliable talks to my dad's modern Mitsubishi Triton with its POS infotainment. carplay has worked ONCE on it with my iPhone 11 Pro and that was the only time I found out it existed. Also it needs the usb plugged in or the bluetooth doesnt work, calls kick it off bluetooth its a MESS. but ios 6 ipod touch? it knows how to do that

idk if your gonna see this comment since this video is 10 months old but you can downgrade your ipad 2nd gen and iphone 4s to iOS 6.1.3 (except for ipad 2,4) requires jailbreaking your device to downgrade tho
