I was deployed overseas when I found out that my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was on my way home from emergency leave when I found out it became worse. By the time I landed she had passed away. This song means so much to me.

my mother lives in Florida. i live in Maryland. i fear something like this every single day. i grew up with this song. i really really do not look forward to anything the future holds. i cherish the present and regard the past. maybe i'm weird, but the future is no friend of mine anymore.

This song means the absolute world to me. My Dad recently passed away and the lyrics explain everything so well. Our relationship is this way. I remember when we was on life support and we knew he wasn't going to make it, I said to myself, "So this is goodbye but I'm afraid to speak." This song will always have some place in my heart, not to sound weird. One reason ATB is my favorite ever..

My mother died yesterday. I came right to this song. When my dad was wounded in Vietnam fall of 1969, she was his Navy corpsman in the hospital. She became a nurse after they got out of the military and married. They adopted me in 1984 when I was 16 days old and she stopped her career as an RN to raise me while dad worked. She had a stroke in 2015 and I watched her decline slowly until her death. She got to see my daughter for about 4 months before her stroke, at least. It breaks my heart but to see other comments here, I feel a lot better.

Just found this now, I've been into more extreme metal ie: raw black metal/death metal but this is amazing. As a guitarist who can read sheet music listening to the riffs in this song makes me visualize this on paper and it's amazing, super sick grooves and melodies while remaining legitimately heavy. The opening riff is so strong and emotionally charged it literally knocked the fucking wind out of me.
