Another great video! Learned a few new facts. I didn't know there was so much controversy surrounding the hydrostone.

my aunt lived in hydrostone for over a decade. I think it's one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the city if not the country

I had to look this up since I didn't know anything about it. My husband's grandmother just told me about this because her mother was there when this happened. She was either leaving for school or leaving school. Her parents were there for her dad's job on a steamship. Going to have to ask her more about it

9:35 I lived in the area in the late 80s. The current images you show look like a different city entirely. That development in the 90s was gentrification.

I grew up here in the late sixties - eighties. Thanks for putting this together. My question is did countries responsible for the explosion contribute to the rebuilding of the city?

How about a video on the proposed "completion" of the quad at Dal? Some of these sketches are, preposterously, proposing a mirror building similar to Killam (why have 1 monstrosity when you could build two!?).

I loved the part where it said the cement (stone) blocks were too heavy to be taken up the hill. Sure makes you wonder how they moved all the stone, granite and marble that was used in some of the older classic buildings that were skyscrapers. When they couldn't even haul a stone block up a little hill ... lmao ! 🤔🥴

Personally, even though it looks great today, the planning board would face charges today. That money was ment for the survivors and they diverted it for thier own use. That's fraud. And going by today's judgment, thier living relatives should be held accountable. If I'm accountable for the native Americans and the African Americans then the same should hold true. They screwed them over, now thier relatives and the new home owners owe them shit loads of money (compound interest). Just how I feel.
