I discovered Baja when I was 45. It was that first day there I realized this is what I had been searching for my whole life. Wish I could have found the place when I was 20. This movie explains why.

Spent considerable time in that area and loved it . Now it’s tough there are all kinds of tournaments going on pretty much year round and with that it has taken some of the allure away of being a sleepy fishing town . It used to be crazy dorado fishing and that has seamed to go away for what ever reason, and the rooster fishing has always been good especially when your with the right people.

Great video. However when he says, "give me space man 200-300 yards 400 yards"....ok well he made the decision to make his avocation his source of income, and promoted the guiding there, documented his world records via that spot - ...so therefore he and a handful of other gringos are part of the reason the place is pounded now. One of the characters in this film said to me that he doesnt guide "DIY anglers". I said "what are you talking about, what is a DIY angler?" Someone that likes to catch fish? :) He said that he will not offer his guide services to guys that come there with their own gear to fish any other day outside of his actual guided service...yes that is right...if you plan to ever fish in the general east cape area outside of hiring him, you are now classified as a DIY angler, and he wont book you. Its easily the most bizarre conversation I have ever had with a guide...let's just say I dont get any such BS from the Mexican guide community.
@patrickleary23892 жыл бұрын
What you describe is spot on and typical all around the world. Somehow the vast majority of "guides'" and/or celebrity anglers want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to prostitute their game and sites yet somehow maintain exclusive access and quality. It's a vicious and ironic cycle everywhere.

First time north of East Cape, waded out knee deep, to observe massive schools of bait fish when a 50 to 60 pound Rooster passed my right leg, at 90 m.p.h. smashing bait behind me and racing past my left leg back out to sea .Scared the crap out of me!

All this was beauty wasn't put here by chance or accident. Nothing can create EVERYTHING. People say death and taxes are the two things we can't avoid. That's wrong. People cheat on their taxes all the time. It's death that everyone's has his/her day with. Jesus Christ claimed to hold the keys to death and Hades (Revelation 1:18) He made truth claims that we all must face and ask ourselves. Is he a liar and a deceiver (not the fly), or is he telling the Truth? The way he lived His life, being perfect (sinnless), keeping the 10 Commandments. What He taught (loving your enemies). And being raised from the grave. He is reliable, He can be trusted. ALL other people who claimed to have the truth are burried in the dirt. You can go see where they lie. Jesus's tomb is empty! He is not there! Follow that guy! Repent(turn from your sin) and belive the Good News of the Gospel! That we can be reconciled back to our Creator through His Son Jesus and be given eternal life! Like sheep, we have ALL gone our own way. We have all broken the law of God and are under Gods wrath. Please don't reject Jesus's perfect sacrifice for you before you breath your last breath. Much love friend and thank you for this amazing video. Tight Lines and see you on the beach from at least 500 yards or more. 😉👍
