I can hear some Morricone inspiration here ! Great job :)

Wow! It sounds incredible! What string instrument library did you use to create this composition?
@marcozannone3495Ай бұрын
Thanks! The string library used here is called "Cinematic Studio Strings" part of the Cinematic Studio Series from Alex Wallbank

Oh wow😭 How can you work with over 100 tracks and keep the clean sound? Which audio interface do you use? I really love your music thank you so much for composing!!
@marcozannone349522 күн бұрын
Thank you for listening! I don't use an audio interface just the laptops default sound is quite good. For the clean sound it's mostly about making sure the instruments are not getting in the way of each other. So just paying attention lines don't interfere with each other, especially with the melody line which needs to be quite clear. Also if you are finding your sound gets muddy when using a lot of tracks you should try cutting some dBs around 300Hz wherever you can, those are the muddy frequencies that always build up when you use a lot of tracks. I find cellos and doublebass bass notes often muddy up the track a lot if you don't cut some around 300Hz, but almost all instruments can use some cut there.

@@marcozannone3495 Thank you very much! I'd like to ask you a few more questions, how do you start composing? (on a score or directly in a DAW?) Do you have any tips for developing motifs effectively?
@marcozannone349519 күн бұрын
@@hmohayeah I usually start directly in a daw with a piano patch to find ideas and then sketch out the track with the vsts. I cannot imagine the instruments in my head so I need the daw to find an orchestration I like. For motifs I don't have specific rules I follow... I'd say just find a theme you really like and when you have to make a B part try to preserve some melodic or rhythmic elements from the main theme in it. It often just happens naturally so maybe you don't need to overthink it too much.

Isn't it hard to edit in post after having recorded, when your grid is "merely guidelines" ? I do think it sounds all the more beautiful because of it though. Quantizing symphonic music does take a lot of the life out of it
@marcozannone3495Ай бұрын
Yes it does become more time consuming so I only do it sometimes when I feel like the part/piece really needs it. Logic does have a way of adapting the grid to the free tempo played midi but I'm often lazy to set it up haha
@eliyahhaddads57782 күн бұрын
Do you sell those string arrangements, in midi? Bass? I would buy them if you sell them!
@marcozannone3495Күн бұрын
I have some of my old mockups project files such as the lord of the rings one available on gum road, I never thought about selling the midi of my own work but I'll think about it! Just to understand how I would do it: what is of value for you in having the midi? Is it for analyzing the modulation?
