Man, all I will say is that whatever you do, keep one thing in mind when going on a date - if you're not there 20 minutes early, you're late. If you arrive 5 minutes early, you're bordering on being disrespectfully late - also, majority of homes do NOT have air conditioning, and if you don't learn when and where to properly throw away thrash and when/where to throw away plastic/paper/chemical recyclables, you're going to REALLY get the stink eye from your date and most German people. Different culture, man, different culture.
