My paternal grandmother held OP's father's ideas. She strenuously objected to my and my younger sister's attending uni, because we were girls, who'd simply marry, have children and become housewives. This once , though, he stood up to her and both of us went to uni.
@corneliawissing79509 ай бұрын
Thank you! The other time he stood up (for me) was when grandmother told him I was 18 and should start wearing a corset (as she did). I was always tall and thin, so dear Dad looked me up and down and said: "She's doesn't need one". And that was the end of that.

Why did it take OP so long to decide to go work for/with her uncle? And why was she consistently seeking validation from toxic masculinity?

Wants parent love… No matter how toxic.
@ceej31329 ай бұрын
Wanting a parent's love and approval is a strong drug. Sometimes when you don't get it, it takes a while to snap out of it.
@vpombovp9 ай бұрын
@ceej3132 I don't think parental love is like a drug because drugs are manufactured by humans but parental love comes with the DNA. Haven't you heard the phrase "going mama bear on someone" in the name of defending your child?

@@vpombovp I'm using slang. I get what you mean, though.
@PrincessQ-fj9ly9 ай бұрын
OP is basically wired the same way every child is. They want their parents' love, no matter how toxic it is. It can be very sad when you think about it. And that's exactly why I hate parents who toy with their children, neglect them or just flat out abuse them. If you can't love all of your children then you shouldn't be having ANY children at all! End of discussion.

Her dad sounded like such a misogynist. I know 2 wrongs don’t make a right but I felt that it was funny that she helped her Uncle gain justice against her father. But at the end with her comment, it just sounds like she’s no better than either of them. The whole story sounded like greed from all three sides.

OP's father needs to look at people like Lisa Su. Who is the CEO of AMD. A company that has a quarterly revenue of $22.3 billion. And it was Lisa Su along with the engineers that are doing that. As before March of 2017. They were just a joke compared to Intel. But now they are a fierce competitor to Intel. Well for their Ryzen processors. Don't know about there Epyc processors. And AMD's midrange GPUs are competitive to Nvidia's midrange GPUs. Even though Nvidia has the most powerful "consumer" GPU. That GPU costs anywhere between $1600 to $2200. Plus a horrible CEO that doesn't know what in the world he is doing. Because he has been raised that he would be inheritting the business. Someone like that is still enough to make a very successful business start losing money and if nothing is ever done to fix the situation. That can cause the company to go bankrupt because they ran out of money.

This is just so sad on so many levels. Everyone in the story is acting like 5 years old. Daddy got jealous, so he attacked his brothers business. OP got angry and jealous because daddy is a misogynistic jackass and was going to give business to her brother. So OP went to work for scorned Uncle and was able to get his previous clients back. OP was promoted as promised by Uncle. Now she's talking about opening her own company and taking clients from daddy and uncle. I just don't think OP will ever be satisfied.

I'm really disappointed in OP. This wasn't the way to go about getting her Dad's recognition. She just proved him right by being too emotional. Her uncle should also be ashamed of himself taking advantage of her and I'm sure he has no respect for her either since she was willing to use such underhanded tactics. She hurt her family's income as well and never even mentioned her Mother. Did she care how this affected her if she was innocent in this? I feel sorry for this entire family, obviously none of them are happy and OP has become too full of herself. It won't do her any favors down the road and now that her uncle got his revenge, there's no reason to keep her around anymore. I wouldn't be comfortable having someone capable of that in my company. He probably isn't either. She will learn the hard way later in life underhanded tactics don't work out in the long run, but I get Daddy issues and wish her the best regardless.
