I’m so dissapointed about this tuna-can song. I have traveled to a different country in 2023 just to go to their show and it blew my mind how danceable it was. Not anymore. You can say: well stop following them, but so many of my favorite artists were from afterlife and now I have to say bye to all of em. The show is great one time, but I come to dance not to watch a broken record movie. Pisses me off that I can imagine them saying in the production room: “well, it’s good business, people pay for the show, let’s just tweak the other song here and there and let’s make the robot move left instead of right.” God. I think Mathame is after life and they still creat original danceable music.

@@gadeonmusic Why not? You really telling me that, say, this song colossal is not extremely similar to Anyma’s Syren, or even now Kas:st new song In and out? It’s a clear trend. Or even Argy’s “Sierra” (which, fine, has a 1-2 variations)? You don’t see it?

@@Andrew_reads I understand your point. I used to make the same statement when I found the similarities in songs years ago. I've been listening EDM since 2010. I remember I was annoyed and frustrated by saying the songs sounded the same at one point. Then I did research about music in general and found out that is how it works. Artists are always inspired by other artists consciously or unconsciously. That's how allows music to evolve. I can tell you I got annoyed when non Afterlife producers started copying the metallic stab after Anyma made it famous. If you listen the record label from previous years some djs would incorporate it in their songs specially Massano way before Anyma even existed. Regarding this new song Colossal, it has a dark techno vibe which apparently fans are asking for, me included. Afterlife has always been about eerie sounds and mysterious with dark vibes. Finding songs that sound similar is an indication of the original producer doing a great job hence other producers incorporate their techniques in their own songs. At the end this is music! And has to be enjoy brother! When I don't like a song I just don't listen to it but I do respect the work put on from the producers and the fans who enjoy it!
