Really not sure if shuffling 80cards is much better
@o7o7o7o7o78 ай бұрын
@@Egovinco98 The 80 card shuffling is indeed brutal, but at least being able to talk through the combo instead of manually stacking every trigger makes it way better than online imo. Haven't come close to hitting time in paper yet, although I notably haven't played vs UW in paper yet. It also just takes some practice, like saying what basic you're getting and passing the turn so they take their turn while you shuffle.

I just built the jund scape shift deck, and have worldsoul in standard. I’ve been wanting to be able to play Analyst in pioneer but with a mazes end shell. But this is cooler.

This deck is super cool but it also seems... overengineered? I played the jund version of this combo at FNM for a couple weeks and instead of generating mana and drawing the deck I was just winning by making the typically unimportant 5th land in the reclamation/lotus loop one of the ping deserts and winning by just doing the loop.
@pascal301618 ай бұрын
Making infinite mana + infinite card draw + infinite spell recursion + infinite life also wins, there's no need to run so many dedicated win slots, when other cards are more useful pre-combo but win the game all the same. Arguably this list could have fewer rages than it currently does and still produce deterministic wins
@awsomegadgetguy71918 ай бұрын
lol, one of the ping deserts. I had someone try to make this in arena except they found some niche black land that you could pay/sac to drain 3 life opponent discards a card you draw a card. The ping deserts are a much simpler solution.
@o7o7o7o7o78 ай бұрын
The short answer: The point is to find the cards with the least opportunity cost, not the cards that make the combo the easiest to execute. I'm the person who more or less made the jund version as well as this Analyst deck (assuming you mean beseech spelunking), and gulch is a good wincon there and is the one I've swapped to more recently. At RC Atlanta where I played and popularized it, the pinglands didn't exist yet, and Immersturm Skullcairn being a 1 color tapland is probably worse on the already shaky manabase than just playing the kinda shitty removal spell cut//ribbons. But ping desert is a way worse wincon than worldsoul's in this analyst build, since an etb land with no types that doesn't sac, has no types for binding, and isn't a snowland for frost bite is actually pretty bad, and worldsoul's is just a good card in this deck to cast in the midgame. Like I'd probably play rage even if it wasn't the wincon, and that's why I'm playing 2. Also, just to be clear, the point of the 5th land is so that you have redundancy and can combo through naturally drawing the other drawland as much as anything else.

@@o7o7o7o7o7 That all makes a lot of sense. Again I just took the jund list to FNM a few times so I'm by no means any kind of expert. I was finding a few games I lost to not having something to bargain and not having the time to find it so a build that's less dependent on an exact scenario existing to combo is pretty enticing, if maybe more complicated to execute. Appreciate the work you've done on the archetype, ive enjoyed it quite a bit.

Banefire would be a better win con here because of the combo, uncounterable is kinda a big deal in a combo imo
@Mr2ndAmendment278 ай бұрын
Agreed 100% .. at the point you have infinite mana yooou might as well make it uncounterable .. even if it's just one copy.
@pascal301618 ай бұрын
You can infinitely recur it, why do you care about counterspells? Also why do they have counterspells left in hand after not stopping your combo?
@Mr2ndAmendment278 ай бұрын
@pascal30161 of course you can BUT wouldn't it just be smarter to just go the uncounterable route as it'll save on repeated clicks that this combo requires of us.

@@Mr2ndAmendment27rage can be played for 4 mana to deal 2 damage gain 2 life and ramp 2 lands, the life gain from lands makes world soul much stronger. Counters don’t matter once you have comboed off so may as well play the more powerful X spell
@Mr2ndAmendment278 ай бұрын
@@isaakward4393 why do you need to gain life if you're ending the game !!?? So... do you even know what banefire is???? When you're comboing off dude lands and life don't matter at all... you need to reach 21 mana and boom opponent is dead IF they're at 20 life. It can't be countered as long as x is 5 or more. Banefire is a way better option if you're at the combo point.. if you're still trying to set up combo etc then sure worldsoul's fits a weird niche.. because it ramps and gains life but in the middle of a combo you WANT the actual end of game to happen because if your worldsoul's is countered boom game over and here's an idea if your worldsoul is necromentia, stone brain, deadly cover upped then you still have your one of banefire !!
