That means that same tech will not go to bits while you're taking your family on a holiday trip. You'd change them before a VLN race, wouldn't you? As for the brakes and tyres.. Doing that distance on 1.5 sets of tyres and still having half the pad left after 750km at near-race pace on such sticky tyres is testament to how well Kubica has managed the car. 4:18 and onwards: I second that! Only time I've tried Nürburgring IRL so far was in july 2010 in a caged Suzuki Swift Sport (from RentRaceCar, don't think Theo und Heide runs it more, sadfully?) and 4 laps. First lap was OK, did some safe overtakings and had a feeling of hitting apex 90-95% perfectly for each corner and felt quite a quick lap on cool down from Döttinger Höhe. On 2nd and 3rd lap TONS of traffic! Porsches, Ferraris, the brand new LFA, BMW M4's, E92's and other cars with lots of power. Really, REALLY stressfull constantly having to look in your mirrors. Moreover a lot of drivers seemed not to be able to control the horse power. The constantly interrupted rythm led to some sort of nausea for me, having the thought more times just to park in the grass (though knowing that would not exactly be safety neither, ofcourse - hope ppl don't actually do that) until traffic cleared. Then I tooked a little break and picked up my girlfriend up for the last lap. She stated at least ten times that I should drive slowly, since she's afraid of speed. Before my drive, we had an instruction lap by old Theo himself (ACE driver!) in his Touran (must've been tuned), which made her seasick, sitting in the middle of the back seat- for me his instruction lap was all the money worth itself renting the car). But at lap 4 with my girlfriend in 'guest seat', the heavy traffic was gone, just normal traffic. Said to her that I felt the safest actually driving at speed, not having to look that much in the mirror. After around 30 x "STOP STOP STOOP" she finally relaxed at about Klostertal/Steilstrecke, and seemed accustumed to my driving. So I had my best exhillerating full gas ride between Wipperman throug Pflanzgarten right to Galgenkopf and no noisy sound from the passenger seat, just silence :-) Just this last section (and Theo's instruction lap) was all money worth it, desipite only enjoying less than half of the total distance behind the wheel. And that was in 2010. Now we have 2020 and I imagine it has gotten only worse with heavy trafic, mainly due to all the YT channels and videos which inaugurates new drivers to the track. I've watched (read: admired) Mishas videos the last three years or so and I see a lot of traffic indeed during TouristFahren. So the last couple of years I've had the thoughts to re-enter the track, maybe in a car with more power, but everytime I've have bad thoughts about increasing traffic. ...OK, no...I HAVE to go there again :-)

Did I get it right? Basically kubica is nearly as fast with the m4 than a Senna with a normal driver sending it? :)

Stock BMW M4 should go about 7:52 about the ring and M4 GTS was 7:27. So he was faster than that, sure there were some mods (weight, tires) but still it's impressive.

@@AlphaTVyt pretty sure they have decent roster of test drivers and just as big roster of racecar drivers. Keeping someone like Kubica or comparable in stock car for lenghty testing would be a waste of money for company and time for driver.

I feel bad for Misha to have to deal with people that can't even shift a manual... I mean if you can't even do this don't comment about anything. That F1 driver lap was a pleasure to watch and experience for Misha he loves racing and that what it all about!

Good point, only scared of being a passenger when someone isn't that good of a driver! Same for me man! Controlled speed makes me excited and smiling, kind of euphoric feeling :) Have sat in a 700kg 280PS swapped car and the guy (built that car himself) pushed on streets in absolute darkness, including drifting. It gave me that euphoric feeling and no fear at all, because I felt he was fully in control. Most likely, if I would watch a video of that, I'd get pretty tense! Maybe it's a point when we watch from behind the keyboard, we can't feel the drivers inputs, so some people could feel fear watching a video. My point is the video could make fear, but sitting in the car not :)

What a legend of a mechanic! Worth his weight in gold … as with all the others behind the scenes which allow an (for example) F1 driver to innately trust what they are driving so they can go out and enjoy themselves properly …

best performance mods for cars, suspension and brakes, even "sport" cars hace street oriented suspension, or people will complain that its too harsh for road use, im getting my hand on a c30 t5 the next months, and first things are going to be made, and only made, is suspension, loads of mountain roads in my area and is just necesary

I'd reconsider relocating the shoulder strap mounting points. As is, it compresses the spine in a crash. Generally they need to be mounted parallel to shoulder height or slightly above shoulder height.
