Thank you for posting. I am not a member of the ballroom community, but as an avid spectator of the genre for close to 17 years (1997-Present), I must honestly say, what we witnessed on the video, is the main reason why many African-American gay men in particular shun the ballroom scene and those who participate. The whole shadey, battle cat (always fighting), etc. connotations continue to plague the ballroom community. And with all of those people there (we can all safely assume that there were house members there on both sides of the fight) and no one jumped in to break it up? All I heard was "let them fight"...ok, they fought, now what? More beef for the function?
