I love Dutch density, but as an American I find it really jarring how drab the architecture is. The areas of uniform brick are kind of depressing. And the red sidewalks just kill me. I find myself wanting black asphalt or gray concrete. Visiting Europe, I have found it really strange how you visit a Latin country like Italy or France and everything is so bright and pretty, then you go to the Netherlands and it's just so drab. I don't see how cultures could be so different when they are so close together. But all I can say is, Netherlands needs a lot more color.

@@jeffreykaufmann2867 Exactly, there are no 'red sidewalks'. He completely missed the 'red signal', meaning: DANGER !, here you encounter the terrorists on bikes. Ok, we get it @Clay S, the Netherlands is not for you.

This was filmed in the middle of the pandemic. Few people are coming out into the streets yet.

lol, i find the red pretty normal here, its part of the Dutch infrastructure and architectural style. Not sure which places you have visit in The Netherlands to make these claims, but where i live in The Netherlands is anything but drab and colorless, but whatever 🤷♂ You are free to express your opinions on that as how you see fit.
