I love my AfterShokz, I was given a pair by a rep, titanium I believe, but eventually after years the speaker became loose, or just busted, then as I shoved them in my backpack, the stem broke off like yours! Bought a pair of Aeropex, and I believe the battery just started to malfunction, got my most recent pair with their two year guarantee. :D

I had my titanium band break in half and peeled back the silicone. Cut a ball pump needle in half and put the titanium pieces in each end and it’s fixed.

I had the same issue four months ago. Based on your video, I filed a claim explaining the issue, after few weeks they approved the replacement. I had to send the old ones back to them. Now four months after, same thing happened but on the other side. I'm filing a claim again, fingers crossed. I really like my headphones :(

Mine broke after less than a year, in the same spot, but the design of mine looks different inside. There's no exposed titanium in the band, but rather a plastic end that is supposed to lock to two pins embedded in the end of the headphone section. The strange thing was that the plastic where the pins were embedded was completely crumbling away, as if there was something wrong with its composition. In any case Shockz was good about warrantying this pair.

Great work, patient explanations, and many valuable, contextual musings, thanks! I discovered precisely this failure on my aftershokxz (sp?) this morning; googled “aeropex repair”, found this in 1st or 2nd place, and am very happy. Thanks, too, for mentioning the two-year warranty: I will try that (again: this is already my second pair, the first failed audio-wise on one channel immediately). This pair is about 15 months old.

@timhanson9049 Жыл бұрын
2 years ago I recall struggling a bit to first to register the product and struggling more to file the claim. This time it was much easier: I made contact via e-mail, we went back and forth a couple times and I eventually found my picture of the original receipt and included that. I think that's the main thing they wanted; they didn't seem terribly concerned about how they failed or anything. (This time they were even gracious enough to send the replacement to where I live as opposed to the vicinity of where I bought the original pair while on vacation.) Good luck with yours. @@sachaeinzig-piling1058

This happened to two of my Shokz Openrun Pro. Unrepairable. The cause? Leaning against a headrest, which pushes the headphones forward until your ears stop them from going further, which in turn bends the side outward and snapping the band at its weakest point. Titanium band? 😅. Even before that, both of the headphones suffered silicone covers peeling off and the plastic button covers falling off and get lost. I had to use something pointy to depress the tiny metalic buttons in order use them.

@backofficeshow Жыл бұрын
Did it break in the same way?
@Trucidek Жыл бұрын
Sadly not, mine is the power button not working anymore (stays pressed forever when he feels like it), which I thought was caused by the front silicone becoming loose and had some shower water in... After opening (way easier than I thought!) and investigation; the solid plastic of the power button seem to have been broke for a few month (it was then harder to press) and, pressing harder for months caused a leak in the secondary silicone layer for the buttons ! The said button was oxidised like hell. I cleaned it up and now can get it on/off by making contact with a screwdriver I get my replacement monday, after that I'll order a couple of supplies and a new button, and unsolder the old :) The headset will not be as water resistant as before, but it makes me mad that they prefer to send free stuff instead of repairing... I can't stop thinking about the landfills full of repairables.

Slightly different design around the charge port and button to mine. I feel the flexible central wire shaft on yours didn't go deeply enough into the earpiece section to have sufficient support and hence the failure. Could be either design flaw or fault in making, I'll try not to strees mine too much from now on. I only tuned in to see if someone had found a way of replacing the battery, it definitely looks too sealed up!

The power button is the biggest weakness of those headphones... It has no real support, except its own solder and the board.
