Gosh Stephen, that’s the scariest thing I’ve seen in a while. I almost feel like I could do it though. You’re a great teacher.

I'm gonna sneak a couple pockets into a big black H&M sweater I wear all the time BECAUSE WHY NOT

I loved your "we're going to cut our knitting" giggle! I recently cut a crocheted sweater for an after-thought neck line and everyone was screaming - DONT DO THAT IT WILL BE A NIGHTMARE!!?!?! But it was fine, and I felt dangerous as I cut my project.

I've never done pockets, cardigans, cutting knitting, any of that before. I want to make my first cardigan with pockets though, and the directions made no sense. So I decided to watch some videos and figure out what I'm doing before I cast on for once. OMG. I'm using these pockets in my everything now! I kind of want to go back and do this to my other sweaters too! I will have to see how brave I am once I'm done with this one, and see how this goes. That looks amazing, thank you for the best pocket tutorial I've ever seen! (And yes, I've been marathoning pocket tutorials for at least 3 hours straight now. This one's the best. Trust me.)

Stephen, you are absolutely the Bob Ross of knitting!!! 🎨🖌🖼🌲🧶 Do I have plans to make an afterthought pocket? Nope. But did I watch this video anyway to listen to your delightful mix of calmness and excitement? Yes! Every time you say 'it's just knitting' I hear 'happy little trees'. ❤

What a great video!!! I’ve been researching pocket techniques so I can add pockets to the front of a little girl’s dress. This may be just the method! Thank you so much for making it. I love your personable instruction and well done videography. I can’t wait to check out more of your videos.

This is really great for making a pocket. If you do afterthought heels, this will be a piece of cake for making afterthought pockets.❤️
@gardenvarietyfae Жыл бұрын
You could probably do similar to a forethought heel too, and plan ahead for where you put it.

Thank you for mentioning that you can correct a stitch mount as you go. This lefty learned to crochet long before learning to knit. All my purls are mounted "backwards" for the next row, but I just knit them in the way that they "untwist"!

This is easily the most nerve wrecking and at the same time the most satisfying video I’ve watched this week. I came here because I was looking for a totally different technique but now I want to knit a cardigan with afterthought pockets. 😜

I'm thinking the bind off as I make the sweater and cast on similar to (i think the turkish 2 needle cast on) one for toe up socks and leave one side with stitch saver for later. This was amazing! Thank you! I was just wondering if there was a way to do this!

Is this a horizontal version of steeking? But everything is better with pockets.

This is great. I wonder if there is a way to do an afterthought pocket that means you hands can enter from the side rather than the top of the pocket?

could that help to knit at sametime the pocket edges to different yarn and later take the different yarn off carefully and pick the loups to needles

Why don't save stitches while knitting? And then finish the pocket. You mustn' t cut !
