Uhm.. Why do they feel bad towards william, he literally had no regret killing the kids, plus he is glitchtrap and he's still trying to kill gregory so he had no regrets. No they didn't also it wasn't a trap if it's already over with also he is a sociopath meaning somebody in his past made him this way to the point his mind litterly the structure of the brain was changed but also not only that but the very chemistry of it. And add more things that happened and there you go. With the right conditions you get somebody like willam born with sociopathy. He felt sympathy in the book and even if he didn't so what?
