This design is the one i like compared to Blue flakes. That 8k goes away with deep insertion.

As someone who has really enjoyed neutral sounds recently with the Moondrop S8s being my current favorite IEM how much "better" would you say the aful cantors are in comparison considering both are BA only IEMS. What do you think the S8s do better and conversely the Aful Cantors do better vs the S8s? Thanks for your reviews : )

I like the dynamics of the Cantor a lot. It doesn't leave me bored to death like the s8 can.

@Hijynx87 is correct. Different tunings. Estrella is very pleasing but doesn't have the extra details and upper air of the Cantor. Estrella is a great value.

@@Jaytiss pricing shouldn't be a factor. Comparing an IEM only in the same price category doesn't give a fair perspective. It's quite a lengthy explanation so Checkout the Scientific Audiophile's infinite ranking system. Anyway the diminishing returns hit hard after the $300 mark. The Hype 4 is 90% of the Monarch MK3. And Estrella is significantly better than the Hype 4. So it's worth the comparison. You did compare the cantor with the dusk. How does the Tape Mod compare? Does it bring out more detailsm

Pricewise in usd: Estrella 299, Cantor 799, Explorer 120. It all depends on the budget too. Many cannot afford expensive iem, thats the whole point of finding our personal tuning through the reviews.

kind of confused about the vocals, you said the upper mid is lacking but on the ranking list it said lovely female vocal focused. I personally like a little bit more upper mids for female vocals so im curious about your opinion on that.

I think the think is that there seems to be a little lower upper mids, but it doesn't seem effect female vocals. And in general they sound really clean and right on this iem with no eq. With a slight lift I do find it sounding better.

I didn't really feel it was necessary. It was fine as is. The touching only happened if I stuck it deep in my ear.

Way better, worth the upgrade. If anything is. Cantor is a way better p8, mega five est bass is like a better Gizaudio Davinci.
