Agadmator deciding to unleash his Alekhine saga is one of the best chess news of 2025 . Now it is time to sit back and enjoy as he takes us through the drama , action , elation and despair of the greatest chess players of yore . Also , i love how at 14:20 Agad doesnt even bother to explain why the black queen doesnt pick up the white bishop at b3 expecting us excellent subscribers to realise it by ourselves. 😊

I spotted that one as well but I can’t figure out why that wasn’t possible. Edit: Took me a while. Loses a rook for a bishop on g7 in case other uncles like me were watching.

@@kezboardgaming6344 it loses black at least a full rook and a bishop, because after queen takes bishop, white rook will take black knight with check, only move is to block with rook g7 (or queen but thats silly). White rook takes rook check, queen has to move up to h8. White rook moves to b7 discovered check. only move is king g8, white rook takes black bishop with check again. might even be a mate in there somewhere. Black would get completely destroyed.

How is it that no matter what I’m doing, I always manage to find time to watch Agad’s 20-minute videos as soon as they’re uploaded?

Hey, it's better than your boss catching you playing solitaire. An Agadmator video is the more classy way to get fired.

Hectic game I enjoy these Classic historical games a lot . Always look forward to any new Agadmator upload a highlight of the day for sure . I know Antonio has covered many great games from the past I try finding videos of his from 3-5-7 years ago that I missed and have been able to watch some great chess . Suggestion # Alekhine vs Casablanca I’ve heard they had a bit of rivalry differences etc and history together . Casablanca won the majority of the games they had played but in one tournament Alekhine did get the better of Casablanca I’m not sure if it fits into your current agenda but I’m sure there’s probably a great game or two that the two legends have played

Probably he changed his name due to the fact that during fascism, foreign name were banned, hence MAx was considered illegal. Just a supposition

To add to this, all "un-Italian" last names at the time were changed to something sounding more Italian. Trieste is still full of last names ending in -ich that would have been -ić before.

In the first game, how about queen to h7 check? King takes queen and then rook to g7, discovered and double check, isnt that mate?
