17:05 here rook takes H7 is the best move, the engine at the end recommands it but I did see it during the game. If he goes King to f6 the we go Qf8 and its forced mate. Yeah he could initially block our rook with bishop to g7, but maybe he doesn t see it..and even if he does it we have a playable position

To me it seems like the same as Rf1 except the queen doesn't target the bisschop and you leave the backrank open

I saw this too during the game. I think the problem is that the bishop blocks, and even though it’s pinned to the king it still supports the queen to A1 mate threat.
