That joke never gets old, it seems. Even though I am not the most enthusiastic about chess throuout my life, and I do not understand the irony, I relish the fun. The video I saw recently, where agadmator joked about Evan's being played, wich didn't actually happened, I got a good laugh.

Pushing pawns as Black isn't a good move continuation against Ian Nepomniachtchi. Play for a Draw if you can't win it. Thats how Carlsen does it!

#question agad if you are planining on actually visiting grand chess tour and asking the players a questions i personally recommend that you arrive there at least 30min earlier so you can catch them up because unless you are allowed in commentary room you can't get a real interview with them after the match. Espetially if they lost. It is 0% chance for any talking to do.

6:27 after black bishop captures, white takes his black knight with rook, basically a free piece because if black captures rook, white bishop then captures black bishop with a fork on the black king and the rook :)

Did anyone ask Caruana why he did NOT play the Petroff ? He is the world's number one and perhaps sole proponent of such at the highest levels. He is also extremely hard to beat there. I don't remember him losing with the Petroff

Probably because this is a round-robin tournament, and wants some early wins. I can imagine that even though he is best prepared with the Petrov, that he might not be ok with a draw this early in the tournament, as the Petrov is known for being kinda draws.

I'm also had that same question.... But, I found the real issue of why not Nb3 is , Black can take the knight with the bishop... ( Bxb3+ ) .... Still, King is in check and rook also in problem & dark square bishop is hanging.... If, King takes the bishop (Kxb3) then mate in 1 (Qa4#) .... So, King have to leave the rook also....

at 7:34 in the line you mentioned where whites b pawn cant be defended due to Rb8, the bishop pins the g pawn so the rook on h6 is hanging. well not really because Rxb2+ removing the pin

19:00 black bishop captures pawn wins the game or not? exchange the bishop that covers the queening square and also win a pawn in the exchange, even tho youre down a piece. Why wasnt that an option? Edit: doesnt work because after black bishop captures pawn, queen c8 check and youll win the bishop :D

Then Knight has only escaping square at d3 ( Nd3 ) ... That can also, taken by White's light square bishop (B x d3 ) ... Then exd3... Then Qxd3.... (Black is now one pawn down.... ) b3 - Nb2 , Rb1 - Nd3, Bxd3 - exd3 Qxd3 - ....... (Black 1 pawn down )

What about if instead of playing Bishop C1 Check to draw, play Black Queen to D3 to try to win? I apologize because I have no chess engine, and perhaps I am missing something obvious for everybody else. If anybody could give an analysis, I will greatly appreciate that. Actually the problem after Qd1 is rook d2 (Rd2 ).... This will attack both queen & bishop ( under double attack Rook& Queen ) .... Then white must have to go for the same draw ( but, after allow the black to capture the light square bishop with check )...

When the King moved away from B2 and away form his bishop then Fabi should've brought his own bishop to C3 and block and attack the bishop on b3 at the same time and promote his pawn regardless of what Nepo decides to do after that! Can't believe MR AGADMATOR didn't analyze that! "He was not on his sharpest of days"

Sorry to be a pain my friend but for once, after watching many videos I have found something you may not have been right about! At 11:49 queen would not be captured if bishop moved in line with the king,as it could be blocked by a pawn. Very very minor and Caruana would end up winning anyway but just thought I'd say and show I was paying attention😂
