Never have I ever sat down for a while and cried because of a show. I think it’s because I can relate to isla in a way. She didn’t want any memories at all because when she’s gone, she didn’t want the people she left behind to feel sad. But the message I got from it was, “don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened.” I wish I could erase my memories of this anime just so I can experience it a second time.

The reason I don’t find this anime sad is because it portrays reality so well. Not every love story will be cliche and end with every character being happy. Sorry to compare two different animes with different stories byt it's kind of like Your Lie in April (don't read more if you don't want spoilers) It's like the ending of Your Lie in April where the guy finally realizes who he loves, but then the girl ends up dying before he could tell her. She always loved the boy but she could never find a way to get close to him so she had to find an excuse to get closer, so she lied about liking his popular friend. Hence the name "Your Lie in April". It didn't exactly end happy and it didn't have many cliches.

Binged it in 4 in the morning, hit me like a truck after finishing episode 13. Hearing this on the ferris wheel scene gave me a reality check, I suppose I won't be able to mentally and emotionally recover from this. I couldn't stop thinking about this anime even at 5 in the morning. As a person that does not cry in any situation, I am proud to say that I did dropped tears off just from watching this. This and clannad and clannad after story are the only two anime that made me not only ugly cry, but gave me like lingering sense of sadness. At least with this anime, not that it made it any less sad, they give you ample time to prepare for what is no secret is inevitably going to come, but with clannad and clannad after story it was almost sinister how they were just like here’s a great slice of life, romantic comedy about characters in school, go ahead and get attached to them all as they develop and get through high school and after, then we are gonna do a complete 180 , rip your heart out, give you some time to heal that broken heart we removed, then just as you feel fine again we are going to do it again but this time like to where there isn’t any hope of even fixing it.

Usually for me I have no issue rewatching an anime, even one like plastic memories which was just had a profound effect on me with how sad it was, but clannad was one of the first anime’s I ever even watched, which I didn’t even start watching anime till my mid 20s because of a girl I dated getting me into it and even though it’s been years I don’t think I could or ever will rewatch clannad because that’s how rough it was to get through it. I held back my tears when they were still on the wheel. I thought I couldn't cry... until Kazuki said to Tsukasa: " You did good, right up till the end. " He can't hold it back anymore..... At that time, I broke my tough and cried so hard that I can't even read the dialog that she said, even I rewatched I still cry a lot until the 3rd time. Seeing a grown man breakdown full of tears.... remember how important she is to him. Tried to act as nothing much happened, but knowing the one that he is holding in his hands is his everything and never coming back-.... human has their limit... The first episode showed how much the granny's granddaughter means to her. A relationship between the elderly and their grandchildren that you had to separate is really heartbreaking, the ways the child cried to remind the granny what to do when she won't be here anymore... man- I- don't know what to say-- Plastic memories taught you that: Your relative around you may doesn't make any impact, but once they are no more. An empty space in your heart won't get filled by anyone else. Cherish every time we have.. until the very end ^

I remember watching this with one of my great friends. He’s off in the military now & we don’t get to spend any quality time together. I always come back to this anime because it’s brought back so many memories & and made me so greatful to have had him as a friend. To the few people reading this, make sure to appreciate the friendships you have now & create memories with them, who knows when they could be gone? 👍

I wouldn’t say this anime is the best, it was really good, but the thing that makes it amazing and all worth it is the ending. I still can’t think of an ending that got me as much as this. The studio literally made this perfect, best atmosphere, best feeling, and best timing. All accompanied by this amazing song, makes for one of the most emotional scenes I’ve ever seen in anime and will probably every see. I love this so much. 💜

The most touching ost in this show. A show hasn't gotten me to get close to crying, this is the first to get me watery eyed. But I realized through watching this anime crying isn't nearly about what sadness is about. I had an ache in my stomach through the whole thing, and I still get it over this song. This is easily one of the best shows I have watched, glad I got recommended through my recommendations list. For me, this is one of the few anime I'd love to erase and rewatch.
