The range of emotions on the second agate! It was an emotional rollercoaster haha! I think it was still a fun reveal and just adds to fact that you never know what you'll get until you cut them!

I'm glad you got one in the end. Each cut built up the tension to the final reveal. Agaye eyes, with amethyst, so cool. If you think you cut them the wrong way, go back, turn them and see if the quarter rock is any better. Only one way to learn. Cut, cut, cut. Loved the show and you still have the best sound effects. Keep having fun and don't stop learning. See y'a next time. Lots of smiles heading your way.😊🤗😊😉😆😃😁😎😍🤩😜😛🤤🙃😺🙉👷♀️👸🙋♀️🙆♀️

I recently bought over three pounds of Lake Superior agates and they are my favorites. I got so many beautiful ones, several with purple and even blue and green in them.

I think they all looked beautiful, with each cut you unlock what has been hidden fr millions of years and each one is special. Excellent video.

For the smaller ones like this, you will get better cuts with the thin sintered blade, the red one that came with the saw. It might be a little slower but gives smoother cuts. That last one made the so-so ones worth it. I won't tell you that you cut the banded agate wrong, because you already know. That's how we learn.
@AgateAriel Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the advice! I will have to use the red one next time!
@troylarsen2454 Жыл бұрын
That first one you cut is a fragmented membrane. The one with the green on the husk is chlorite, I believe. Which is more common on full nodules. The moss agate, if you polish it, the details will really pop, and I bet you will see some small amethyst pockets. From my experience, amethyst is more common in mossy agates.

I think a lot of people don't believe me, or the Geologist that studies LSA's, but I read an article where he states that he believes that only about 40% of all LSA's are actually banded. By the time I read it, I believed it, because someone else and I cut open a lot of agates and only like 2 had any bands. People say over and over, ohh that seems like a pretty low number, but most videos like this just proves it to me every time. That being said, I love agates that don't have banding. They are actually more beautiful than a lot of others. Thank you. Good video.

That last one was super pretty! I love eye agates! They really are the best! So much prettier than the plain banded ones! I hope you get a chance to cut the rest without freezing to death! And wear a coat! You already have a cold! Ok om done playing mom! Lol!

Hi Ariel, awesome content, cool lookin' rocks for sure! Quick question, why did you go with a slab saw versus a wet tile saw? Also, what is the biggest rock you can cut on it or put another way, what is the widest slab you can make?
