This is going to sound really skeevy, but from your reactions, and what you noticed and liked - my thought when you mentioned you were going to Film School was "Oh! I can't wait to see what he makes when he starts making things". Yeah, pretty cringe I know.

I think “get my purple back” is just because her magic manifests in purple colours, it was just a metaphor for her magic in a general sense
