My Aunt took her father to see "The Mousetrap" in 1952 in London in its first year! It was her first paycheck as a teacher.

Having just seen it in its 70th year, 10 years on, I can report that the stage looks identical to how it looked in 2011, and the layout seems identical in every respect to the black and whites pictures of the set from many years ago, so literally nothing has changed, except the actors! Saw it on Wednesday this week and thoroughly enjoyed it. And as to 'whodunnit', well you'll just have to go and see it yourself!

The history of this show is part of it's appeal to many. There is/was old props on stage, old sound recordings used (but digitised) and a lot of history. Walking around the theatre and looking at the old posters is fascinating if you get the chance. When Wild Indie did this trailer, we also arranged for some of their old visual and historical assets to be digitised for their archive. It was a lovely time sink of a tangent for a theatre fan.

Oh this promo vid doesn't give away anything. The play gets put on all around the world in various theatres so lots have people have seen different productions. This just happens to be London one, celebrating where it started and, currently, the longest running theatre show in the world. Lots of history on stage. The clock in the interview, the chair, all show props. Great fun to do and made good friends doing it. (If it ever did get made into a "Orient Express" type film... just love to make it ;)

I think when this was first put on stage, Agatha Christie stipulated that no film should be made until 6 months after the show closes. That was in 1952! Pretty sure it'll make it's 70th anniversary in 2022 as well. It's a good story.... very Christie!

@@WildIndieMovies It’s just very sad that Agatha Christie thought her plot wasn’t good
