என் பெயர் எட்வின். குமரி மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள மார்த்தாண்டத்துக்கு அருகிலுள்ள களியக்காவிளையில் வாழும் நாடார் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் ஒரு குடும்பத்தில் பிறந்து வளர்ந்தவன். வாழ்க்கையின் ஒரு கட்டத்தில் சாதியம் என்பது தேவையற்ற ஒரு பாரம் என்று புரிந்து கொண்டேன். கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு முன் இந்துத்துவ சாதிய இதுக்கும் சம்பந்தம் இல்லை என்று தெளிவடைந்தேன். தற்போது கிறிஸ்தவ சாதி மறுப்பாளர் இயக்கத்தில் அங்கமாக இணைந்து இருக்கிறேன் கிறிஸ்தவத் திருச்சபையிலுள்ள ஒரு பையனுக்கு அதே கிறிஸ்தவ போதனையை பின்பற்றும் ஒரு பெண்ணை திருமணம் செய்ய முயற்சி செய்யும்போது, சபைக்குள் இருக்கும் சாதி உணர்வுள்ள 'பக்த சிரோன்மணிகள்', பையன் வேறுசாதி என்று கூறி ஈவு இரக்கமின்றி அந்த திருமணத்தை தடை செய்துவிடுகிறார்கள். இதில் பெரிய மனவேதனை என்னவென்றால் வேதாகம கல்லூரியில் பயின்ற அந்த போதகரே இந்தப் பாகுபாட்டுப் பிரிவினைகளுக்கு உடந்தையாக இருக்கிறார். கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் ஏன் இப்படி பாகுபடுத்தவேண்டும்? உண்மையான கடவுளை வணங்கும் மக்கள் அனைவரும் ஒரே தந்தையின் பிள்ளைகளாக, ஒற்றுமையாக இருந்தால்தானே பிறர் நம்மையும், நாம் பிரசங்கிக்கும் கடவுளையும் மதிப்பார்கள்! அன்பின் மார்க்கத்தாருக்குள்ளேயே இப்படி சாதி பேதம் இருந்தால், இந்த மார்க்கத்தை அறிவார்ந்த நடுநிலை மக்கள்கூட மதிக்கமாட்டார்களே! கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் சாதி பார்த்து திருமணம் செய்வதால், இந்துத்துவம் விதைத்த சாதி என்னும் நச்சுச்செடியை உலக இரட்சகராலேயே அழிக்கமுடியாது என்ற எதிர்மறைக் கருத்து மக்களிடையே பரவி, கிறிஸ்தவத்தைப் பற்றிய வெறுப்பு அதிகமாகி விட்டதே!
