"MAGHIHINTAY" depicts the emotional anguish of a man who had been so attached with his partner but was separated by death. That "attachment" brought them back into the material world. They both waited and searched for each other. When they finally met, they immediately felt a strong connection... and continued the love that was there before.
The song also explains how attachment causes entanglement in the material world and how a prayer can liberate us from this bondage. But a person, who is freed from the past attachments, and has followed the right path to spiritual realization, can attain real freedom.
