a 9670 Would Go perfectly on my farm. Always wished i could get an Agrostar 6.81, but there aren't really any of them in north America. This would be a great option for me.

This video I definitely remember watching during open house and drove these and cleaned them quite a bit around the lot when they were new.

Great vid👍AGCO ALLIS definitely different to other brands, I like transmission design with separate oil from other components, gearshift n two switches on arm rest and easy of lifting tractor hood.👍

I still think you should be able to get Agco tractors in Allis Chalmers orange, White silver , Oliver green, MM yellow and Massey red . And just call them Agco

After Allis Chalmers and Deutz Allis, we had good luck with Agco Allis as a dealer, but the company could not leave a good thing alone. We were in an orange Allis area, and the MF never went over big. Now retired and enjoying my old Allis history.

So an IHC engine or the engines that were famous (in my area) for burning up Gleaners, Correct? So then how were they?

Series 40 is Detroit Diesel

@@simonrichard9873 Go back through detroit's press releases, around this date, you'll find one saying that they are buying DT/DTI-466/4--etc from navistar(IH) and re branding them the 40 series due to supply/other issues.

Look i like these but these and Agco White 6000 series are almost the exact same except the paint color, and you couldn't get the Deutz engine in the White otherwise the exact same even the transmission.
@72alta5 жыл бұрын
the White had a Cummins not the Detroit.

@@72alta I liked Agco Allis better as a brand but I would have gone for the White with the Cummins over the Detroit or the Deutz. I love the idea of an air cooled diesel but they just didn't work out in Gleaners. I wonder if Germany doesn't have the temperature extremes the US does? The midwest can see triple digit summers and below zero winters. Air cooled doesn't seem to work well in extreme cold or extreme heat or dust.
@72alta5 жыл бұрын
@@1978garfield I think they didn't like the consent load that a combine engine gets more then the heat.
@mathewmerkl5764 жыл бұрын
Deutz were very popular in the middle east where it gets hotter than most states i think the dirt/chaff, lack of maintence/education about them was the biggest down fall. We have several older deutz tractors from the 1950s-1970s 3 of them show over 8000hrs one is sitting at 8978hrs with no engine work although its needing a rebuild coming
@SilverGleaner3 жыл бұрын
@@72alta Really they don't like zero maintenance. I think they stressed too much of how little maintenance there is to a Deutz which can be true in a daily sense but there is a bit of maintenance in a seasonal sense or yearly sense. Oil leaks can't be tolerated for long and the fan needs attention after so many hours depending upon operating environment and as far as combines go I guess a daily cleaning is necessary. They are really well built and I'd say better than Cummins but need a different kind of maintenance than a liquid cooled engine and, having worked at an AGCO dealership, I didn't see the needed maintenance stressed. Instead they stressed how little maintenance there was to them.... which really isn't totally true. Myself, I'm not scared of a Deutz engine other than cost and availability of parts and finding the right mechanic to work on one. For instance, you can't just slap in a new piston and liner like so many did or you'll end up doing the job over again. There are special tools needed and a lapping process that needs to be done. Not for a novice or even a seasoned mechanic unless they know the details.
