You're only as old as your reaction times. I'm 37 and go full Helldive Level 9 regularly, sometimes even deathless. And even then, who cares? Long as you're having fun and spreading democracy across the galaxy, you've got your HellDiver brothers ready to take up arms with you. Here's some tips, Stratagem loadout for Exterminate is different from other missions, you need to bring stuff that'll deal with large swarms for a longer time. The Mines are okay but are also hella easy to friendly fire with and don't really do much damage, particularly to big bugs. Laser is great, but long cooldown and only 3 uses limits it. Quasar is almost always a great choice, but you need DPS for this mission, Quasar is too slow, both in charging and bringing another one into the fight. For exterminates i'll bring an EAT instead and just drop them whenever i get the chance so not only do we have launchers all over the place, but allies can use them too in a pinch. Oh quick tactic - when you dodge a Charger (you can just run to one side and it'll miss as long as you keep perpendicular), the time it takes for it to spin around to face you again is pretty close but usually a bit longer than the charge time for a good quasar shot. Easier to line up headshots with that. Finally the Gatling sentry is 100% a trap in this mission. Small area = one charger is all it takes to flatten your turret, and the flat terrain means you're very likely to sweep your own allies by accident.. Helldivers themselves far outclass Sentries in firepower anyway. That said, do what's fun. I'd never say you "HAVE" to run a loadout, but consider what you're facing and look at the gatling barrage, airburst, napalm and gas strike for longer DPS based crown control orbitals. Airstrikes and Clusters are great too - just watch the friendliest fire. Drop one of those longer lasting DPS strats on a bug hole and watch your kill feed go nuts. From your gameplay - you're forgetting you have grenades is the most obvious thing - they're super handy for clearing bunched up swarms. Especially in that scuffed exterminate missions. You have stratagems and Anti Tank to take out bug holes if needed and resupplies are a gift. You can shoot shrieker and spore spewer giant mushrooms with anything anti tank and enough hits will kill it (2-3 quasars are enough) so you can stay safer. Giving up against the Bile Titan and 500ing yourself was hilarious, but you could have just ran after dropping 500 and likely survived. Also, why aren't you diving to the floor? It's so useful to get out of sticky situation or dodge a hunter that's snuck up on you, just make sure to get up and run (and dive again if needed). overall your aim is good, but better situational awareness would help your gameplay alot - much less getting snuck up on. I'd advice you get used to checking the map (it's super handy), and checking over your shoulders every so often, especially in a fight, you want to weave you way through them or better yet, move in a direciton they aren't in so you can kite teh rest of them and have time to bring the swarms down. hope this helps and happy diving!
