Thank you. Thank you so much for this. At the age of 46 I recently told a coworker “I need to lose some weight.” He replies “we have a gym at our other site 3 miles from here. Let’s start going together after work.” Two months in, and down 15 pounds, I’m starting to search for a local strength training coach so I can enter my first weight lifting competition as a novice. Every day I push myself to get better, to “be the best me I can”; to make today count. Age is just a number. Thank you for that.

@shawnwark77762 жыл бұрын
@@PipleZiple I’m loving the bench press and deadlifts right now. It feels like every week is just a little better than the last. Squats seem to be a bit troublesome lately as I’m trying to figure out the cause of some ankle pain. I can’t quite nail down if it’s a mobility issue in the ankle or a slight lift of my heal at the bottom that’s the cause.

I am very partially sighted due to treatment for eye cancer and bi lateral glaucoma but hopefully going to get back to the gym, using resistance bands at home just now. Oh and eh I am a photographer so I took a lot of photos at the Glasgow show and Colin Bryce said I even made him look thin😂😂😂

Before summer 2021 I was struggling with what I actually wanted with my training. Part of me wanted to do some bodybuilding, but some wanted more strength-based training. I talked to myself about this, and went for strength. It's always been more "me". But it was Nick Best who actually made me think about strongman competitions. Now, at the age of 39, weighing at around 94 kg and standing at 160 cm tall (something like 5'4", maybe?) *and* having asthma that needs medical attention, I'm working my ass off to get into shape to compete in Finnish u100 kg strongman competition. I know that it'll take me a couple more years to get into the strength-range needed to actually make an appearance, but I will be on the highest podium at some point. Nick is my idol and inspiration. Age is just a number. It's all about attitude and will.
