I have this one on my Whishlist since 2021 I think. Now that it is getting to full release it might be just the right time to get it.

Highly recomending it! :) One of the best TD games I played in recent years :)

How would you compare it to They are Billions and Cataclysmo? These two seem to be the closest to this style of "settlement defense".
@AlafinGamingАй бұрын
@@lChronosl93 Cataclismo is a bit different, the game has very interesting building mechanic when it comes to defences (building using blocks) but at the same time it is difficult to build that OP defence sometimes. I would say that it is more focused on building and planning your structures well, adapting to the situation. Cataclismo seems a bit easier to me too. Also last time I played (which was a few months ago) I did feel like it has a great potential but needs some time and small changes to be great :) The campaign in Cataclismo seems better to me though in terms of story and characters, world building. They are Billions is the closest to Age of Darkness, plays quite simmilar but I do actually prefer Age of Darkness - maybe it is the setting/atmosphere, maybe just the fact that it looks better, I don't know :) I guess in some areas they improved over There are Billions while staying true to the template that was set for modern TD games. If I would have to choose - I would go Age of Darkness first and then try Cataclismo, give it a bit more time :)

Anyway, a lovely guide. Also I'd suggest taking a look at tier 2 walls + 8 pikemen for the 1st death night. A very cheap and efficient defence.

Thanks for watching! :) I honestly never liked the melee units. Even for clearing the map I usually go for an arbalist/archer blob of death :)

Hey man great guide, I wasn't watching the entirety but what caught my attention is your usage of ballista early. There are plenty of ways to play this game, I'm not saying you are wrong, you can absolutely use ballista if its your prefered playstyle. But a more optimal way of playing, especially on higher difficulty when you have to clear more to expand more, building more units such as archers is much more viable due to the fact that: 1. They are stationary and can thus not be used efficiently after the wave is over. 2. They cost alot of resources that can be put elsewhere 3. Their dps is really shit compared to archers and later on arbalest (in towers) or other ranged units. You are just better off producing archers that you then can use to clear more of the map.

Thanks for watching and your kind words! :) You are right there are many ways which the game can be played, it is fun to test the ideas. This is mainly for new players who may struggle at first. I would say that I like the balanced approach to how I defend the settlement with the basic defence line of regular walls / towers with archers / balista towers. And if you can replacing the walls with towers too even xd Go crazy xd Also just love the fire towers :) they do not seem the best but... Just kinda like that flame everywhere XD Question though - you go just archers/arbalist later on? I usually transition late game into those moving balistas for the stun that they have while the rest does the work. I always though solo archers would not cut it to be honest xd But I think that I am mostly all for economy - with a good eco you can just afford whatever you want later on and I try to focus on that.

@ I kinda go archers for the first night then try to have around 6~ arba the second with dmg upgrade to deal with the giant, then I just continue with arba and keep my archers as an emergency force (they’re fast) and start building sieges, that’s typically how I go

Usually if you have enough people the game auto assignes the max amount o workers. I found a better place for the lumber year and moved some of the workforce there just couse I was low on people 😊 If you do that though you need to remember that from whatever place you take those workers - the game will not fill it on itself, you need to do it manually. And you can do it with every building :) Normally you do not need to worry about it couse you want to have enough people anyway 😊 I hope this claryfies stuff 😊If not, let me know 😊! Also thanks for watching and have a good day 😊

Can you give me some hints on how to get more resources? I see players with 1000's of monthly or whatever the time tick is of gold and a shit ton of iron, etc... Also after a deathnight, I noticed shit spawns in my area after the death night spawns- will the Light Scones or whatever they're called shun them away ?
@AlafinGaming10 күн бұрын
Sure thing ! :) 1. Economy is very much interconected - good start, investing in economy early, explore as much as possible to find new resource nodes, invest more in it. Prioritaze uprgrades to houses and resource buildings. Never stop expanding, never stop investing in eco. Of course finding the balance... That is the trick ;) Later on you want to set up a treasury building with a lot of houses around. That thing really does a lot. 2. Every single place that is not lit can spawn enemies during a deathnight so you want to make sure that your teritory is all nice and bright :) Light scones help just with that but you also can fill smaller gaps with any buildings you may think off (usually I use just some houses).
