You need 6 villagers on food to constantly produce new villagers So u should put the first 6 vills on food. the vill 7 make a lumbercamp close to the wood. vill 8, 9, 10 in wood as well when u got 21 vills (4 on wood and the rest on food) , make loom, and the go feudal age. This is not a rule, but is something that is really good in a lot of cenarios.

Hey got a tip for you with the economy interface. Go into your options and in the interface tab scroll down to interface and change from standard to advanced and you can change up villagers on wood, gold, food, etc. to however you want it. It will also give you control groups on left trigger. You can get a tutorial on it if you go to learn to play and do the basics and play the battle of falkirk

Also, there are a whole range of settings you can adjust from graphics to UI, just like PC, for example I use the smaller cursor icon so I can play fully zoomed out and still be accurate. I would suggest playing for a bit and then looking at the settings and seeing if something jumps out that might benefit your style.

side note: horse collar is more of a wood upgrade. It lets you get more food out of 1 farm. So you save wood in the long run. Its not very important btw. you can delay it.

If you highlight a villager and click on one of the foundations for houses that you laid out, it will go start building it and then move onto the next one automatically. No need to LT queue up each one. I believe this is because you have turned the vill into a builder, so it will finish all building before going idle or going back to its automated task.

Yeah I was literally thinking that to myself when editing the video but I unfortunately capture the game volume with and voice input so I couldn’t turn just it down in the editor. at 5:00 when the villagers go back to their "preset job" that's because you're using the Villager Presets so the AI will make sure to stay within the preset. Switch to Advanced Interface if you want more control with dividing up your villagers jobs

I would like to invite you guys either newcomers or you guys finally coming back to this game since 2000 😭 to watch T90officials & SpiritOfTheLaw channels.. these guys provide really interesting in depth mechanics & strategies with the way they present it. I can always binge t90s even tho some of his videos may reach 1-2 hrs because he is really an interesting guy. And you might want to watch pro players like TheVipers, Hera and others too. These guys are top10 in the world i think, while to me personally their characters isnt too fun but their in game management is truly awe inspiring to watch.. godly i might say 😂😂

Thing I hated most was the wood as well. There isn’t any priorities that focused villagers mostly on wood. I find myself running out of wood fast earlier on because farms so always good to have market to get alittle extra wood if need early in.

you should focus on scouting and reproduction as your eco is moderately balanced. Better scouting/manual scouting will help you find all your herdables and even your bore. Sheeps and bores are faster food than berries. Houses in the front a generally better as they form a good wall, and can easily be made if they get destroyed.

@@ViralGaming687 I have feeling it's going to be different on console, but in PC play it's rare to see more than 3 or 4 men at arms as they die really easily to feudal age archers and all castle age units. They're used as a small pressure rush, can do some damage if the enemy isn't small walled, and against eagles from the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas as they have damage bonuses there. The militia line finds more relevance in the imperial age where you have the eco to spam it.

If you double click a on a unit it will auto select all of that unit on your screen. Holding left on the Dpad will select every military unit you have. I can't wait for AoE 4 console version. And I wish there was an option for auto-queuing villagers and units to free up APM from repetitive actions without any decision making behind. Thank you for the video! I think one of the best options for beginners on the ladder is picking French and going for fast Castle mass Knights flood. Then something involving 3 TC boom, maybe Slavs.

Try and mess with the game mode in the match settings before the match and make sure it’s on conquests I believe. Hope this helps👊🏽

As much as I’m a console player, I have to admit I found this way better to play on PC. The console version is amazing but I think I’ve just been so used to the keyboard and mapping commands, it feels like learning the game from scratch 😅. I just need to stick at it I guess!

You cant complete with mouse and keyboard player The problem is AOE2 doesn;t have controller in mind. it has many vils to keep up eco. it has a map you must click to instant move this point to the other. You cant do that with controller. Get yourself mouse and keyboard The first game RTS I used to play is KKND on PS1. It has better micro control than this.
