The voice acting seems fantastic! I did not realize that it changes when you switch ages. Dark age units are barely comprehensible, while imperial age units speak modern German. What a cool touch!

I would love to see building rotation. Its got no practical purpose of course. But I loved building a normal looking city in my Age2 games but only houses gave any variation to looks. I love that they have roads and fields pop up around your buildings

Would be cool, though it would make the grid system a problem, which might make stuff like putting farms around mills not work quite so well. Not a major concern, but when it's a minor cosmetic or a minor practical benefit, I'd take the practical.

This is the first gameplay video that I have watched for AoE4. I liked how you have played so good so far and calmy in every situation. But I think you have been more informative if you tell us more about units from both sides, formation and etc. For eg. on our 2nd raid you viewer first time encountered those massive walls with scorpions placed n them, caught me by surprise, and wanted to know more about it. You should have used trebs, bombards or rams to bring down buildings. mongonels are specialized to counter big groups of units

It's pretty rare. I've seen spirit of the law use formations in a big 4v4 battle. And I watched Aussie dongo hide in the grass a few times.

you can just hold shift, klick like 10 points around the towncenter with your scout ( the dark areas ) and then last klick should be towncenter or near towncenter, so the scout will get all sheeps around and bring them back to town center, so u dont need to payattention and klick 30 times :)

Hi! Great video 👏🏻👏🏻. I have 2 doubts: 1.- when you catch the relic and send the prelate to the church (or the catedral), the prelate must keep inside? So you need to create another one to catch a second reliv? 2- how is the micromanagement for the farms? Right now i take 1 villager to create 1 farm, and then another one, too slow and confuse. Thanks !!

No they drop off the relics, so you can re-use the prelate to grab another relic. And each farm needs 1 villagers to farm it yes.

they should make AI at normal difficulty micro with limited APM , and hard difficulty micro with unlimited. so the AI can kait you as much as a player would kait.

Been binging on Wololo 5 lately, so this came up. Must say, you should use spears/pikes against a civ that spams mounted units so much :P Also, maybe it might be useful to utilize the houses and military buildings as walls not to have so open economy.

You cannot use buildings as walls in AoE4. Every building has a small pathable area around it as part of its footprint.

So far this looks like a more streamlined experience into the aoe2 meta. less bloat on units and buildings which is nice i suppose. def will be a lot more noob and casual player friendly. as aoe2 is a big complex game, with a lot of unique units and basically the same meta with variation. So perhaps aoe4 is going to finally dethrone aoe2, time will tell. but mechanics wiese its seems to be at least, def more streamlined. which is better imo. i dont play rts because of the cpmplexity and apm. i just dot have it in me, but i do enjoy watching pros play. have learned a lot through their play styles.

Great work man, love your videos! As for the game, I'm a bit disappointed, didn't want a remake of aoe 2 but something fresh, with more mechanics and features ..but yeah, we live in the age of "lets profit from older succeses cuz we are unable to do better".

People always complain , if it was too different I bet you would have found something else to complain about. After 1 day , it's literally impossible that you explored it with any meaningful depth. I played all the AOE ever. This is great . It keeps the core value while updating to new technologies.

Personally I don’t understand any of the gripes people have of the game so far. It looks great! The art style of the game is beautiful. The only thing I would change so far is make the different ships more DIFFERENT looking, and same with some of the units. It’s really hard to tell them apart. Come to think of it that’s a problem with some buildings too. The game looks pretty fun overall though. If I had a good PC I’d be buying it for sure!

Well, since the HRE is German, I suppose it they should sound it! They were only Roman in the sense the first Germanic emperor Charlemagne (a Frank) was crowned by the Roman Church, that's about it! As the saying goes: "...the Holy Roman Empire was not very holy or Roman", it was a Germanic confederation under an elected emperor.
