No u must not understand the game.U must understand the history u see russia was wasnt called russia 1000 years ago it was an slav state and there 3 seperate slavs but during a viking king son u became grand princes to the eastern slav"russia" but when his son olag took kiev kievan rus was born but during 1300ce the decline of kievan rus moscow became the main power of all the rus kingdom.Until the 1500ce moscow became an tsar kingdom or become e empire this where russia was born,Well of ofc some of it is true in the game they was cover half of the history

No, Kievan Rus isnt Russia, just like Roman Empire isnt Italy. But they derived from the past and they are genetically identical. Italians have Roman roots they look a like, they speak almost same language which is Latin. Same in Russia/Ukraine/Belarus whatever you want to call them. The people share same ancestry, they look a like they speak same language and share same culture.
