- Age of Empires II: HD Edition - Myself vs 7 Hardest AI - [Rise of Rajas] -
Behold the best player in the world, Hades.
Playing on Nomad as Ethiopians i've taken down the new and improved Rise of Rajas expansion's AI in the most difficult settings I can find in a standard map setting.
-All of the AI's are team 2 and I am team 1.
-Resources are set to standard
-Large 8 player map
-I picked Ethiopians for their strong early archers (+15% attack speed)
-Originally done and recorded as I was being challenged for the best player in the world position. As per usual, I stand as the best player in the world.

Yep, tried many times on land only maps and it seems too difficult for me, I think it's possible if you cheesed the AI at the very beginning with a perfect build order into feudal scout cavalry and threw 2-3 scouts at every enemy and micro'd them around their towns to disrupt their economy. That was one strat I had in mind but even that is very hard to execute

one strategy that I'm using is to have base walls with openings, and have multiple layers of walls that cause enemies to walk along a snaking path. along the snaking path, stick towers. put extra villagers in the towers for extra projectiles. But leave a hole in the end of the wall so that they don't bring the battering rams, or at least don't use them as much.

Last time I remeber winning over 7 Hardest AI was in Starcraft Melee. In a huge map with only one entry to your base. Siege tanks and Bunkers to defend them Battlecruiser. All those AI were Protoss.

The orginal AI insist on building a true Civilization, town and building unit has more defensive capabilities.

Probably copied from later games like Rise of Nations , Empire Earth etc.. But did not increase in game features like auto management of work or works queue, improving building defence. Earlier we needed every bit of feature of the game to get small advantage in battle and defence. It is now like only one way of playing. 😬

The AI is bugged for nomad maps to a certain extent. The Hardest AI on RM is MUCH harder. Hardest is pretty much the only way the AI can play hardest

I knew there was something strange with this. The AI is very suboptimal at Nomad, and I'd say that is easier to beat 7 allied AIs than 7 AIs with no team. This is because the AI automatically starts producing navy, even if there is no enemy to fight in the water, so their military population is heavily reduced, due to the fact that all the ships aren't killing each other, they remain intact in the water.

Soo, the glitch is, AI creates all of its army as navy, and then you do not destroy their navy and use its population limit to attack them, without them being able to produce any ground units ? Are you able to do it if they do not rely all of their army in ships :

It's not really a glitch, it's more of a flaw in the design of AoE's AI. I'm not show casing myself being #1 player in the world or anything with this video, i'm just showing what I did to beat 7 AI's all teamed against me and that you can do it too if you put in some hours to learn the game :)

As much as i'd like to, that's fundementally impossible without quantum computing being readily available in my own house. All AI is flawed. That's the point. There's always going to be ways to outplay AI, Let alone AoE AI up until that point. Defeating 1v7 hardest conquerors AI is not difficult if you understand how to play properly :)

yeah nah I tried a few times on maps like arabia and even black forest but 7 hardest AI just end up flushing you out with too much military no matter how you play it. i saw the videos of viper trying out the old barbarian AI 1v4 and he was attacking all of them at once so if its possible it's probably done like that

you're right bro! although I did not realise enemy AI's were going to make lots of navy, when I recorded this video I hadn't had any internet for over a year and didnt play online the whole time so I was out of practise. Very rusty gameplay. But I felt like uploading a new video and didn't have much work to do at university at the time. You're right however in the fact I can't beat 1v7 hardest AI on any other standard map other than nomad... AI rushes very early with a lot of military and on other maps they don't build navy so all their resources are sinked into land units and also their town centre is already built for them but on nomad it isn't so they have a terrible start. At the time of recording this I was thoroughly impressed that I managed to accomplish this but in hindsight it's not a "proper" 1v7 hardest AI" ... I could make it more difficult and do it on arabia. Maybe not me actually, maaybe The Viper :D

with the new AI the problem is that it consumes a lot of CPU because it brutally controls every unit individually so it's kind of annoying vs 8, my pc begins stuttering, apart from being impossible lol. So I tend to play vs 2 or 3 max to warm up. or 2v2. I'm a 1750+ player, so I don't get "owned". But it's very difficult

That's a big problem on lower end pc's aye. I get that man. I grew up with lesser grunty pc's so I feel you! AI's on a lot of games tend to take a lot of your own pc resources, like csgo for example... when you play online the game is okay, your fps seems to be quite stable and playable, but as soon as you play an offline match with and against bots your fps drops a lot... and it's because having bots in your game puts more stress on your cpu

There is another type of AI on Voobly's version of Age Of Empires II that is apparently super difficult, I'd love to play it but it's not compatible with Steam's AoE :( Cause you're right, manipulating the AI in this is far too easy :p

double click any unit, it selects all units of that type on your screen (except for converted units of that type), then hit ctrl+1 - 2 - 3 - 4 ... and so on, then just hit the number 1 - 2 -3 -4 which corresponds to that one you grouped :)

I always play it like stronghold; single village at center, buildings, troops and walls (like Castle) always enemy finished me up even in 1vs1 🥲🥺
