Not sure how good you actually are at this game, but me as a 6 years old was pretty scared by the three militias. I couldn't figure that my own three militias and one knight could have easily overpowered them from the get go.

Had AoE 2, played it for years throughout my childhood, stopped playing it for a couple years, then last year I got the HD version on steam and played it for 4 hours straight with a friend (one match) and I've been playing it since. This is my go-to game no matter what and I love it

I've played this for many years and haven't played it in a long time. It's kinda torture to not own a pc and play this game one more again I love putting a littel detail in my village even though it's not really needed still I wish I could play this game once more again I've played this age of Rome and the latest age of empires 3/Age of War chiefs I love it and miss theyse games

I wholeheartedly miss this game, and the first Age of Empires. Though, if you had to force me to choose which one is better, I'd have to say Age of Empires 2 is superior. Love the more medieval aesthetic, and the campaigns felt like very storybook like, while still being accurate to the historical events for the most part. Of course it's a game, so you're not gonna get everything 100% accurate to the events, but if it still gets the general consensus of history right, while still being a fun game to play on its own, then it succeeded in what it was designed to do in my book. In fact, I think Age of Empires, specifically 1 and 2, could be good historical edutainment games.

Guys, here's some tips for playing AoE II. First, when attacking an enemy, take out their town center. After that, kill all their villagers so they cannot rebuild their town center. Then, take out all military-producing buildings and kill all their military units. Finally, destroy everything and everyone! (Unless you want to convert stuff with your monks)

Another tip: Establish military buildings and town centers behind them or to their side, but make the buildings hidden.

At the gameplay you forgot to click the button "Town Bell".
