Yes, you're correct! I made a mistake! In fact, any MELEE unit can snare/slow enemy units. Even myth units can slow other units.

This is great for me just starting on AoM but having played a lot of AoE2. Now I just need to find a nice summary diagram so I can remember it all. I love the snag mechanic where infantry slow down units they hit, it's what AoE2 actually needs to make infantry viable.

Definitely one of the biggest things to get used to coming from AoE2 is the bit about infantry inflicting a 50% slow. Where infantry used to be too slow to effectively raid villagers and cavalry were free to retreat at any time against them, infantry *can* raid in AoM, and a cavalry ball will take extra losses if they have to retreat from a bad engagement. Not to mention buildings being proportionally more fragile against more units. They'll still blow off arrows, but siege is no longer their only concern, human infantry and melee-oriented myth units can often wreck buildings on their own.

One remaining question: are myth units also jusst myth units (just like greek heroes are just heroes)? In other words, does a hoplite, for example, do more damage to a centaur because it is a cavalry myth unit?
