Age of Mythology Retold -- Roasting the "PC Gamer" Article

On February 23rd, Microsoft revealed our first look at AoM: Retold! In this video, we take a look at an article written by PC Gamer. They interviewed Earnest Yuen, the Retold game producer, to reveal some juicy tidbits.... which I found ESPECIALLY worrisome!

Huh. it's always interesting to hear about the competitive scene of AoM, I've always just been a filthy casual. Straight out the gate, rechargeable godpowers is a bad idea. A cooldown and some kind of cost associated with them is a must. Bolt T.V brought up some nice suggestions, such as a buildin to buy them from. I think a game option to switch between would be great, but it might split the competitive scene.

YOU FILTHY CASUAL!!! 🤬🫨😱 lol Yeah, I would support a game option that was like... "Myth mode" or something. In fact, I would want them to remove Lightning Mode or Conquest Mode and replace it with a "Myth Mode" with all sorts of god powers shenanigans, and titans, and myth units, and on and on and on.

I did the reaction on stream, so for this video I had to cut out a lot of instances where I tear into the author haha. I don't think this article would've passed a basic peer review, unfortunately :(. HOWEVER, I'm glad someone wrote an article about AoM! All press is good press 🤠

I used to play this game but really as a game dev all I can say is that whoever came with that idea needs to be fired. It will ruin your games. A god power can do a lot of damage. Being able to constantly use that is BS. It takes away from the strategy and effort you put into macro-ing the game. I mean, it's so stupid. Whever thought about that is braindead.

@@luigiistratescu2756 this weekend they're offering a closed beta, so we'll be able to see people streaming and playing for the first time! I dunno how they're gonna balance it, but we'll get an idea starting in about 14 hours lol
