There are players who like to play the old War of the Ring mode, since thanks to its mod it gives quite great gameplay for one player. The new version is more for multiplayer.

I still can't play. I installed LOTR BFME 2 & ROTWK with the patch 2.22 launcher. Both launch and play perfectly. But as soon as I apply the mandatory 2.02 v9.0.0 patch I get an error upon launch "Base game files not found. Application will exit.". I've uninstalled completely and reinstalled according to the guide and get the same issue.

Is there a reason why advanture factions are not made as sub factions like Thorin/Dain subfaction (you chose at begining of the game). That way you can play any faction on any skrimish map. Maybe rename Haradweith to Wicked man and add Rhun subfaction Add Angmar to Dol guldur, Arnor to Gondor and so on..

Because we strive for some semblance of competitive balance, which becomes exponentially more difficult when you start adding these as subfactions. Subfactions are also much more limited in terms of what they can contain.

Yes I would imagane it would be a nightmere to balance all of the factions and subfactions, im just one of those players who dosen't really care about competative play and would just like to have as much of the factions represented as possible. It just feels bad that you guys did so much work on these unique adventure factions and they will never be "real" factions that you can play like skrimish ones.

God I wish AotR or AotR launcher could merge all needed BFME 2 BFME RotWK installers, specially since it's abandonned. Love the mod but it's always a hussle to install everything correctly.

Not sure what you mean by desync issues. I'd recommend if you and a friend are experiencing a desync to join the community server and make a post in support.

@@Isirion1desync has plagued multiplayer for years. Age of the ring is no exception. There has been some other third-party mods that have addressed this with some success. So far, I don’t know if age of the ring has addressed. That’s why I asked.

I'm aware the desync can happen but what I'm telling you is that it can be resolved if you make a post in the support thread with when a desync occurs. There are a few different variables that can eliminate your desync.@@ShufflerBluey

You have to lower your graphic settings, mainly shadows. The game is from 2006 and the game engine cant utilize multicore processors. It does not matter that you have a new PC, the game runs on one core only.

A question regarding Dol Guldur. Since almost all of the factions (exept Thorins rule Erabor which I also find odd) are based on War of the Ring period. Why is Dol Guldur not ruled by Khamul as the main hero and also have 2 other Nazguls in hero ruster( we know from the books that Sauron has sent 3 Nazgul to Dol Guldur in that period, 3 more are in Mordor faction and the seventh one is in Harad)? It's recommended not to use any of the trainer tools out there as they will most likely break the mod. The options tool has a testing mode that you can toggle on and give yourself restoreman to check everything you'd want to.
