It is but it's not the optimal strategy. If the AI has infantry or support, then you build half infantry and half support until you fully upgrade your support units.

You can win early on insane mode you don't have to go future At the start of the game I level up my infantry dmg and health my support dmg and range and my gold I send out two infantry and four support units the spell hits I send five and five let them all die let them hit the base and send five and five and keep them close to the base only lvl up support from here but do so slowly or you'll lose early and the goal is to get to max lvl support around the time you get archers and if you make no mistake you'll send out mass support for the rest of the game and win early

The best strategy is this 1. Buy 3 of these upgrades: Income lv1, support dmg, support range, income lv2 2. If AI sends infantry and support, mix support with infantry. If they send armored or anti-armor, spam support. Stay near your base 3. Keep upgrading support and income. Once you get both support dmg and range to level 2, only spam support.

iOS Age of War 1 is dumb on insane difficulty because of the nonsensical buff to War Machine's attack speed in futuristic age. If you're unlucky, an enemy spam of war machines can waste your whole army of super soldiers and easily stall the game for an hour or longer.

You could have just use the tower defense method and play the economical strategy and reach the final evolutions before they even reach knights and archers.

what i do on the last satge on insane is i buy all towers and the best turrets and i max the turrets range and damage and they just kill all the mobs b4 they could get to the the base and damage it and it's ezz farm

Is more than that, you need to save some money at the start, or else if you waste all of it (or have less than 600) you're fucked up since you can spam ranged, and since enemy has a high damage then nothing can tank enemies or kill them fast And also get eco upgrades and ranged damage fast so you get a good damage in the medium-late game or else the modern age will most likely kill you The same strategy applies for voltonator but since is behind a pay wall you will not apply this strategy unless you pay

If you can beat it and do a tutorial I can finally stop ripping out my hair. The only tip they give me is to run for my life. {shrugs} and When I got to the future era I sold all my turrets sent out 10 MF super soldiers and I lost them and with it my economy. That has gotta be the most rage inducing thing to have ever happened to me.

AsePlayer | Stick Empires & Stick War Legacy Impossible. Voltornator has a tough turret defense. Not to mention 1.3 of his clubman unit is the equivalent of a Dino rider. Meaning per Dino you would lose 85g. I just stay defensive. Nonetheless I still lose. :-(

Why not put mêlée in front of supports ? In cave age i think that assault dinos are better, they are ranged aswell and have far more stats for the cost

Melees deal less damage at base compared to upgraded or even maxed out supports, so they would lead to a waste of money later on. Assault Dinos are bad in the first age because you need to unlock them, they're expensive and their size makes it so not many of them can attack at once (plus you also have to buy their upgrades, which is a waste of money since not every armored unit is actually ranged).

@@smaragdchaos you also have to think about health, not just damage, units with less health die sooner thus more gold expenses about assault dinos, i havent made the math but i think that even with the required upgrade they are more efficient

@@majdavlk649 Why would I need a unit with slightly more health if my DPS suffers at that expense? The greater DPS, the faster the enemy units die thus less health lost on my units, and DPS is the most important aspect in impossible mode where enemies have massively increased health. Moreover, there is a unit relationship as well. Infantry units deal super effective damage to support units and get countered by armored units, whereas support units deal super effective damage to anti-armor units and get countered by infantry units. Enemy infantry units are the weakest unit type in the entire game, so them countering supports is not an issue since an armada of supports will easily melt them. On the plus side, supports countering anti-armor means they will kill pretty valuable and durable units with much greater ease. Infantry being countered by armored units makes them a complete liability when the enemy starts spawning armored units, as even supports become more durable against those, regardless of your upgrades, and them countering enemy supports is not very useful for the reason your supports don't struggle against them at all, they're easy money also. What makes infantry units an even worse option is the fact that in Age of War 2 mobile version, defense upgrades are massively nerfed on infantry and anti-armor units, and to a lesser extent on armored units also, so you need to invest in their defense even more heavily if you want to make any significant difference in their survival (simply put, it's just not worth using them for this strategy). Infantry units are only useful if you turtle and play defensively with turrets in the long run, which is an inferior playstyle considering how expensive that route is. In the first age, they can be used to tank for unupgraded supports, but they're not useful beyond that age. And no, assault dinos are not more efficient. You can only ever have 2 assault dinos attacking at once, unless you somehow closely group them at your base (which is close to impossible, because their production time is so long and they're way too expensive), whereas rock throwers can attack in much greater groups, they have faster production time and much lower cost. Another problem is that armored units aren't all ranged, and incidentally the spartan armored unit doesn't have a ranged attack, so when you evolve, you will immediately suffer the consequences of your decisions and likely lose the game. The pop cost of 2 per assault dino makes matters worse as well since that greatly limits the amount of assault dinos you can have on the battlefield at once.

There is actually an easy, although quite tedious, strategy to win the game : - at the beginning, wait for a few enemy troopers to come on screen and use your Special, should give you enough gold to buy your first Egg Thrower tower and a few bucks to spare to build a few Club Men - from then on, spamm some Club Men (aka Meat Shields) when enemies are close to your base, and let the tower kill them - do NOT advance age : just keep building a few meat shields, stay close to your base, buy new Egg Thrower towers whenever you have the coins, and spamm Club Men in front of your base (they will soon become overcrowded and sometimes a few or even a LOT of Club Men will attack the same ennemy at once) - Abuse this strategy until the modern age, until you have around 10-15k gold in store. - Move up the ages until modern age at once, sell your base Egg tower, and replace it by the best tower available - From then on, keep upgrading your towers and advancing in the Future Age, build a few troopers when needed (always as simple meat shields, so just buy the cheapest ones, its the towers that are doing the job) - when you have A LOT of gold in tow, build 5 or 6 biga$$ troopers, and watch them plow the enemy base in 10 seconds
