ive noticed you dont point your units in the favourable direction when you end their turn without them having attacked, if you hold right click down on the unit while its lit, you can drag the mouse to the direction you want to avoid flanks and other nasties. Also you can undo them guarding if you click the shield again if you decided to take an action instead or repossitioning

This series brings back so many memories. I used to be addicted to the original Age of Wonders, played so much every day. I haven't had the opportunity to play the 3rd one but watching you play shows how much the game has developed since then. You'd definitely doing a masterful job and on King difficulty as well. I've actually made a mini backstory for each hero because I was bored but I think they're pretty good Malghus is a mysterious character , usually keeps to himself but as a result the soldiers have heard rumours of his activities. He is said to bathe in the blood of the innocent which would explain his smell, he is also said to practice demonic rituals, however his skills as a general and a fighter let him stay within Macha's upper echelons. Ezinia is a very old friend of Macha and is fanatical when it comes to defending her friend, she would give her life for Macha and loves her as if she was her sister. Lucius has always helped the high elf kingdom but tends to wander into the forest to find more beasts to tame or capture for experiments, no-one has actually asked to what end does he hope his experiments to achieve but he seems to have good intentions at least..... Macha herself is a powerful sorceress and is a benevolent leader. Her strength doesn't lie on directly harming the enemy but in supporting her people and summoning dreadful creatures such as the eldritch horror, she has a strong connection with magic and if she should fall then the high elf kingdom will surely follow...

I just binged all of your episodes in this series. It was quite entertaining. :) I'm curious as to why you're not building watch towers on your southern border though. That would help you see if there's an army approaching and give you a little more time to react.

AoW3 is great as it feels like Civ mixed with HoMM without the stupid OPness of spells. I do however think they could add more to the marathon feel as i dont like advancing too fast in unit tiers, and even on slowest setting with no dwellings or villages, the use of T1 and T2 (besides support units) quickly becomes null and void. I had a large map with underground (dwarves are just insane at mining the underground for a massive gold boost), and i ended the game at turn 130 or so, still it felt like it was T3 spammy (not because i played dwarves, tho that didnt lessen the spam). I think smaller units should be able to either mob up lower tiers to be a bigger force in terms of HP and or have size of units determine size of stacks. Many things needs a tweak and a nudge, and then it becomes an amazing game because Civ doesnt know what the hell its doing anymore.

I really recommend getting frost protection for your armies vs Rogue. You will be spammed by shadow stalkers which deal ungodly amounts of physical and frost damage.

school of enchantment is op, it allows your apprentices to stun any enemy that isn't immune to shock and makes it even potentially viable to make a full stack of them; especially when they can teleport out of danger with school of teleportation. Put some behind eldritch horrors or any other unit of magical origin and they can make enemies unable to respond while also keeping their meat shields healthy.

why dont you notice just passing nexto to unist with Malgus makes them digusted? They dont have to end their movement next to him, they get debuffed is they move past each other.

They don't stay disgusted; the morale penalty disappears once they're further away.
