The way this game improves so exponentially with every update is extraordinary. I think in some years time with updates, dlc, and mods we'll be looking at one of not just the best fantasy strategy games but strategy games period with AoW4

It's one of those games where if it had some kind of re-release or the spotlight shone on it again, it would do amazingly well. It was still a fun game at release but like you say, it gets exponentially better and a lot more people would get into it the 2nd time around.

The bounty/ war coordination is definitely my favorite. Im glad the ally ai interaction has been improved so much in this game. In planetfall it was almost impossible to fight a battle with an ai ally.

I love Age of Wonders 4, it sits perfectly in the turn based strategy/ 4x pocket. The campaigns are fun, designing and conquering a weird world is fun. If you love a wide variety of games, this one is a great palette cleanser. I always come back to it after a long RPG campaign. BG3, the AoW4, then Elden Ring, some indie titles, back to this... it's great. I'm looking forward to checking out this DLC.

Not only is the amount of updates that they keep bringing to the game incredible, the quality of them is really high as well. Just when you think the game can't get any better, they pull something like a complete overhaul of the necromancy system out of their hat.

So far looks like great stuff! Particularly like the change to hero caps. I tend to build cities a bit far apart, so not feeling pushed to make them super fast for more heroes is great

Same her. I like to turtle but you absolutely need more different heroes. This way I can turtle with one - two cities and have many heroes the same time.

The most QoL feature of QoL fetures is the UI lines to show you to province boosts for the SPI when you look for a place. Must have stuff is here, finally!

Having a way to tell my allies to attack other cities is huge. The necromancy overhaul is also just so cool. Finally i can have the legions of skeletons i dreamed of.

This game really is great and keeps getting way better with every update (which isn't quite the norm with many other games nowadays). I'd really hope they keep on updating this game, it's still a shame it doesn't get more attention, to me at definitely has become the most fun 4X game by now

Here's a quick theory for future dlc... Elephant riders could work for Nomads if they bring back Ke-nan from AoW Shadow Magic. I'm guessing that Eldritch Realms will bring back Merlin and Julia, so I could also see Ke-Nan, Symon and O'neron returning there

The de-sync fixes are the best part of the Wold update imo as the multiplayer is extremely frustrating to play atm. Hope it fixes most, if not all of the issues.

unless im mistaken they have done something to enhance the back end, load times and end turn times seem to have gotten dramatically better. will try a bigger map with more opponents next game (i have been running things pretty small because i was falling asleep waiting for end of turn with 5+ enemies late game).

This game is totally slept on. It was on my most anticipated list but somehow it surpassed my expectations. Season pass isn't over yet still, and I feel like they keep the best for last.

Anyone know a good avenue for a nature astral build / set up? Especially with that fey tome I would LOVE to go into that so I don't just sink a crazy amount of time into Barbarian stuff, just recently got the game and friends are seriously helping me out X) First AoW but have experience in previous RTS's and the like:P

this is so amazing. the game just keeps getting better. the necromancy overhaul wasnt expected, but man it looks good. makes necromancy feel more correct, although I had no complaints about the old system. so happy for the season pass. hope we get a season 2! side note. Naga are not mermaids.....

So would a Crocodile Primal civ that has Swamp Adaptation essentially get +5 food per swamp tile from turn 1? (+2 from Swamp Adaptation, +3 from Crocodile?)

@@SundararajanSrinivasan Well that sucks. That basically just means Primal is a civ with a free adaption trait and a summon. Much less game changing than the other civs. Compare *a summon* and *a quest* to Reaver utterly dominating diplomacy or Barbarian letting you move faster and farther than any other faction. Also, why would anyone play anything other than Glacial Mammoth if you can't stack adaptations? If you're going to choose an adaptation to tie your civ to, arctic is the only one that benefits from a tome further enhancing it (Cold Dark gives +2 production and food).
