The speculation and future-guessing parts are maybe not the most useful here and now, but they sure as hell are interesting and worth thinking about.

I saw ai16z's elizaOS, and got excited. Then saw config hell = agent ops, and that excitement was quickly gone.

Hu Po...You talk a lot about AI Safety. But I am surprised that you did not talk about the death of the Open AI Whistleblower, Suchir Balaji who was part of ChatGPT Pre training. He left the company disillusioned by lack of safety guards and was about to expose alleged data thefts by Open AI when he was killed. Police has called it a suicide but his parents have apparently produced evidence that it was a murder (his mom even appeared on Tucker Carlson podcast). They have also claimed it was a cover up. Why is no one talking about this?

The openness of AI agents will be dependent on the ability to track the user possible via a blockchain id and registration.

If the "while true" is the consciousness, then the definition of consciousness should be, it wants to last forever.

Isn't DynaSaur's "code writing and execution" feature just another function call that the LLM calls with an additional code execution callback that runs the code before the function call results are returned?

In my experience Rivet has been the most convenient framework. Everything else is just text without ui, rivet has a completely different approach. I'm disappointed that you put it in "avoid" section. It's not really a "no code" framework, it's "organize everything including code not in plain notepad" because regular "files" are horrible for prompt management and rivet takes inspiration from complex tools like Unreal Engine, Touch Designer, etc. It's not perfect and has only 1 dev maintaining it and some parts like loops and concurrency are not great, but it provides the most productivity for organizing workflows, exporting them as json config and running, with visible output great for debugging on each stage. Langchain has been criticized multiple times for providing unnecessary abstractions and inconsistent apis, it only gained popularity because it was first of its kind, do you still suggest to learn it because its been adopted by some companies and remains popularity because of vc funding? In my opinion it's a horrible framework with bad developer experience that will lead to tech debt and by not supporting it we as developers bring ourselves a better future where we build stuff and not struggle with legacy code.

Redefining "consciousness" as any form of self reference is semantic abuse. If you need to redefine common use words to make a point then that point is usually just as questionable as the vocabulary. Basically to persist in time requires error correction of some kind so congratulations you just reinvented panpsychism and rendered the word consciousness ubiquitous and meaningless.
@ZzzKekeke17 күн бұрын
Look, I get that you're skeptical. But calling it 'semantic abuse' is a bit much, don't you think? Maybe our usual ideas about consciousness are just too narrow. Ever think of that? It's not like I'm saying rocks are having deep thoughts or anything. But maybe, just maybe, there's more to the picture than we realize. And maybe exploring that isn't so crazy after all. Just sayin

@@ZzzKekeke What you are talking about is only appealing to people that have no clue about what consciousness actually is and how it is implemented such that their random nonsense is as good as anything else. We are not going to get those fancy robot armies being built to do useful things by throwing a while loop at them. We are trying to functionally replicate human level consciousness and beyond; uselessly simplistic ideas like these about consciousness are part of the problem, and not anything resembling a solution.
@jyjjy717 күн бұрын
@@litguru4748 Yeah, I also believe categorically consciousness really isn't that far off from a multimodal mixture of experts, it makes stuff like this even more egregious.
