Literally the best editing 3D video i could find to help me understand things. I honestly captured the house like i was doing the tour. seeing you captured it like your wanted to completely cover every sqft then minimize helped me understand a lot!

Hey Casey, the four 360 outdoor photos you added, did you take those separately after doing all of the house scan photos? Or can you take them anytime and just select them not to be included in scan? Thx!
@AgentCaseyG Жыл бұрын
You actually switch the type of scan you are taking. So when you step outside or in garage etc. change it from 360 scan to 360 capture. That makes it a 360 photo that you attach later. And you can do it anytime in the process.

does it take the measurement of each area ?

Yes. It’s a general measurement not exact. Depending on how many scans etc. it can be more accurate

Hey, thank you for this video. One question: What I have to do, if I want to remove all furniture and so on from inside the model, so I have only empty walls and floors left?
@AgentCaseyG6 ай бұрын
You can’t with matterport. You could edit the 360 photos and re upload to the tour but that is a lot of work. Maybe using CubiCasa virtual walk through would be your only option.
@groupeone236 ай бұрын
Stupid newbie question: As you edited out scan points, was your reason for originally scanning the points you subsequently edited so that the Matterport software would have visual line-of-sight references in which it could then create an accurate floor plan rendering? Thanks in advance for your answer and for your helpful videos.
@AgentCaseyG6 ай бұрын
Pretty much. Depending on what camera you use you need more scans to create link the scans together. Also the more you do the crisper the dollhouse is. Lots of reasons. But for the actual tour you don’t want to show every scan for sure.

question, I took 2 360 exterior photos after the fact. Am I able to add/import to the scan?
@AgentCaseyG9 күн бұрын
Most likely no. Unless they have to be close enough to link to a scan that was close by. Matterport has a new merge feature that you can merge two Matterport scans. I haven’t tried it yet, but theoretically, you could turn the 360 capture and to a mingle Mayport again and then merge that with the other one.
@dennisdischler65419 күн бұрын
@ actually just got off phone with MP. They said go into the scan, next to the shutter button is the device you are using. Click that and then 360 photos. Import from there.

Hi casey, can i get this kind of quality with a samsung s24 ultra?
@AgentCaseyG24 күн бұрын
It would take a lot longer and the stitching when using mobile isn’t as good but in general you can. I would suggest at least getting the Axis to help with creating the panos

What's the purpose of the tape on top of the Theta? Is it so you don't damage it when lifting the camera on the tripod?
@AgentCaseyG Жыл бұрын
Ha ha I wish. This is my 1st theta. Few years old and it may have fallen over a few times. Keeps on ticking. I use it for my floorplan scans only now. Use my newer one for residential matterport. The tape keeps it together. Lol

after doing subs, is there a limit for scan points? and will it cost more to make a Matterport doll house?
@AgentCaseyG Жыл бұрын
There is no limit. At least that I have run into on scans. There is a limit in order to process it but it’s a high number and if that happens you scan 2 models and have them merged. The dollhouse is automatic.
@blurrinlife25 күн бұрын
What if I shoot at every corner a 360 picture, and also do the scan, but I hide all the cornershots, than my tour would be more accurate?
@AgentCaseyG25 күн бұрын
The more shots you do the more accurate the measurements will be and the better the dollhouse will look. If that’s what you mean by accurate then yes if you need for alignment and stuff, not necessarily.
@blurrinlife23 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot! How would you scan a property where the street door directly opens to a staircase leading to the main entrance, but slightly to the left, towards the driveway, there's a garage under the house? However, there's no direct access to the garage from inside the house. The living area is elevated above ground level, while the basement/garage is below ground level. The yard is situated between the two, and there’s also a terrace extending from the living area to the backyard. During the initial scan, I started outside, went down to the garage, and continued with the lower living area, moving towards the back. At the terrace, I switched to ‘Floor 2’ and scanned the terrace. However, when I returned to the base of the entrance stairs, I probably forgot to switch back to ‘Floor 1,’ which caused the entire house, lower basement living area, and garage to merge. I would appreciate some advice on how to handle this. I was thinking of scanning the upper living area and terrace first, then doing the lower level separately. I could add 360-degree photos of the exterior, or something like that. What do you think?
@AgentCaseyG23 күн бұрын
@ first I would go to my original scans and change the scans to correct floor and if it looks right upload again and see how it turned out. But main thing it everything needs to connect. So just like when you are scanning either level. When you change it to the next level that next scan still has to connect to the last. You can’t start a new level and move to a whole new area on the new level. You need to scan nest to the other levels scan. I have a video on here explaining that when going up stairs :)
@blurrinlife23 күн бұрын
@@AgentCaseyG Okay, sure. So my main focus needs to be on "everything needs to connect". Thank you!

Seems like you’re really overscanning. You don’t need so many scans for this size space.
@AgentCaseyG11 ай бұрын
As you know there are a lot of factors in how many scans we create. Type of camera we use is the biggest. How crisp the doll house will be is another. Etc. Also when I train/teach I say over scan is better than not getting enough. You can always hide a scan.
