Aggravated Assault with Firearm Case in South Florida dismissed by Fort Lauderdale Criminal Attorney. Criminal Record Expunged. Shoddy Police work revealed.
7pm we get a call from our soon-to-be client's girlfriend. Let's call him Bob.
Bob allows his mom and stepdad to live with him - but the stepfather is into some shady business. After an incident at the home - Bob and his stepfather get into an argument.
The stepfather threatens to kill Bob. Bob calls the police. Relieved when cops arrive, Bob tells them what happened. But the police don't really listen. Instead - they go to Bob's stepfather for the story.
The stepfather then lies & tells police that Bob threatened to kill HIM and that Bob had a gun on him. Refusing to listen to 2 on-scene witnesses, Police arrest Bob from his south Florida home and charge him with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. EVEN THO -- police didn't even locate a firearm at the scene of the "crime". (!!)
We're hired the very night Bob is arrested. We're at court and get him out of Jail on Saturday morning. We go to work right away - we track down the witnesses and get sworn statements. We reveal the Florida Police Officers poor work.
Over the course of three weeks -- we got Bob's case COMPLETELY DISMISSED.
The beauty of hiring an attorney RIGHT AWAY is that you can get charges DISMISSED before they are OFFICIALLY FILED.
After you're arrested, there are about 30-40 days before the Florida State Prosecutor finalizes the charges against you. A great lawyer can get in and do the hard work needed to hopefully:
1) Get the charges dismissed completely
OR
2) Get the charges reduced before they are officially filed.

Great story however, you neglected to mention what happened to the officer. I am sure nothing,of course. What happened to the lying stepfather for filing a false report?

@@Rossenlawfirm. When a DA refuses to do his job, we the people get screwed. I know we can lobby to change laws, but that is useless if a DA refuses to do his job. What can the citizens do, legally, to force prosecutors to charge dirty cops? This is a recurring theme all over the States that needs to be fixed, or the discord will continue. Just like I don’t believe all women, because some women lie. I don’t believe all men, because some men lie. Ergo, I don’t back the blue, because some cops lie. I do not BLINDLY back anyone.

Your talking a lot of 💩! Cops are held accountable however in this case, the cop may have believed the story of the reporting person. Can mistakes happen YES so don’t think cops will be perfect all the time. An arrest does NOT mean your guilty and is why there is a legal process. This is a shining example of the legal process doing its thing. Either way, this case would have been dismissed same as most Domestic Violence cases against men. Florida requires an arrest when a Domestic violence case turns physical. Florida prosecutors want law enforcement to determine who the primary aggressor is. If the supposed perpetrator is not on scene, then the reporting victims statement is taken as true and an arrest (out of custody) is created. That’s not the cops it’s the States fault. Innocent men placed in jail because the state doesn’t know what else to do.

Liers talk the same language. ( Yes, I'm implying the officer is a lier) It's similar to someone speaking French and everyone else speaks English. French will be left out.

Could it be that the officer believed the reporting persons story more? Or do you just think the officer was malicious in his duties? If so, what is your proof? Remember, if you accuse without proof them you are what you are accusing others of being “Liers talk the same language”. Food for thought.
