I'm VERY new to Tekken, played 7 for maybe like 15 hours or something, I play Asuka because I like her moveset and she feels satisfying to play. Versed what you would call a "parry only Asuka", literally, his favorite button was RT, he preemptively pressed it every time I moved. So I learned to play a LOT more carefully, baiting and using grabs more, it was a really good learning experience. He beat me the first game, but then I adjusted and beat him 3 times until he gave up :P

I deal with that kinda stuff at scrub ranks, and even though I get salty AF, thinking about it-- if a spammy play style beats me, why should I expect them to stop? If Asuka players can get by with only using their reversals and cancans, why would they spend all that time knowing the rest of their move list? It gets frustrating, but what are you gonna do?

@@ryanhass8716 yes this is a valid point and i agree with you! but i feel like the answer isn't so black and white, after all tekken 7 has soo many characters, who have soo many moves and learning how to deal with everything can be hard. and some cheesy strats require the opponent to be extremely patient while the reward for guessing right and punishing properly doesn't even have to be that big. it can be very frustrating and i don't really blame people for being salty for having to deal with cheesy strats, also let's be real most people take advantage of these cheesy strats working online while they don't even want to improve or anything... but as you said if it's working why should they stop

They didn't give Asuka all the panic buttons for nothing. K-Wiss' opponent in the video being a legit Tekken God Prime is proof that the playstyle is not outright losing. And you said the playstyle those people use have no Tekken knowledge. xD Dude, the only way the playstyle could be successful is with Tekken knowledge. Both frames and opponent's playstyle and adapting to it. If anything, the lazy players are those not knowledgeable of the match-up. You're not supposed to press your offense just because you're at heavy plus frames against all characters. Against those people, Asuka mains especially, you're supposed to bait out their panic moves, be as defensive as possible and pick your shots.

You can chicken it but I am not good enough and it is not easy to do that while many Asukas I faced were spamming the parry stance after every combo. So there are 4 possibilities: 1. the parry is too easy to execute 2. the counter move is too difficult 3. all my Asuka matchups were ppl. using cheats 4. i am simply not good enough Probably 4. but I really cannot tell because T7 ranked has become a cheater's delight in general, which gibes no incentive to me to play anymore.

@@pst5345 TLDR; kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnvNhYhmftaci8U let's say your throwing a left punch by hitting 1= (square on ps4 or X on xbox) you this chicken by hitting forward and the other limb input on the same side which is the left kick button 3= (X or A) IMMEDIATELY after your jab was inputted. This goes for all attacks including ones with motion or double button inputs which you'll have to figure out which side its considered (Asuka's original parry cannot parry headbutt, knee, elbow attacks, or throws) this must be done constantly for each individual attack you don't want parried on hit. Ill drop a link to a video that helped me understand the concept. Srry if this is long but i hope it helps
