My loadout is the inline muzzleloader and all 3 variations of the traditional muzzleloader It doesn't shoot all the animals on the map but it's just a fun loadout to do Also 1 cap lock muzzleloader is loaded with minie balls and the other 2 are loaded with round balls

My dad had antlers in his garage from a white tail he shot as a kid, it went down when he got to it it got up and took off, he shot it again, the first shot hit the antler and knocked him out, It came to and started to run off he had to shot it again. Wish I had a picture of the rack.

A year out from release, I kinda feel like my opinions of this map have changed. It think it still isn’t one of my favorites but man is it nice to basically have a map that is very similar to Layton Lakes without as much of the brush as Layton has at times

the antlers bobbing in the trophy lodges is really annoying. Makes me feel dizzy🤮 why can they not add good stuff without having to mess up something that previously worked fine! still enjoy the game though and appreciate all their hard work but man, sometimes all the little bugs just makes me so frustrated😅

Update messed up rancho white tail zones, half of mine are gone and now the whitetail spook instantly after you shoot. Used to be able to shoot 3 or so deer per zone but now I’m lucky if I can hit a second one.

They used the same button for 'spotting' animals and placing waypoints, when using binoculars. Really annoying. And if you're on consoles like me, we are not able to change it. 😒

The immersion factor in this game was immediately killed for me the first time I tried to headshot something, brained it, and it ran a half mile. On the same animal, the same shot angle, the same distance, and the 338 hits a leg bone in front of the heart and stops it while the 308 hits the leg bone goes through it and gets a heart shot? That kind of sucks too. Drop shots basically not being a thing anymore and it gets really frustrating when it's a waste of time to try to hit something in vitals and track it versus hit it in vitals and just come back for it later also sucks. I just want a game where I can run around and shoot stuff and this is getting really frustrating when it's just disheartening most of the time and the fun of it is basically gone.

The only time I see headshots are viable are when coyote hunting. But other then that it’s usually not the most ethical choice. More room for error. Kinda sounds like your aim is just kinda sub par tbh lmao.

@@OdysseyCS8 I mean that's valid. My reflexes suck and my timing sucks and I shoot as/after they move a lot. I'm making a distinction between 'that felt like a good shot and should have worked' vs 'whoops, I screwed that one up'. In the case of the 338 vs moose, I have the screenshots that show the .308 vs .338 and their hits and what the game decided. .308 was objectively better, like I got a better roll on it and a crap roll on the .338. Other times I have good angles and placement, but I get screwed on penetration value that seems inconsistent. Neck shots that miss neck bone are my fault, it's a risky shot but when it works it's nice. My favorite dumb shot was a frontal shot that slipped between lungs and went above the heart. No vitals. The inconsistency of hitting leg bone and getting screwed out of a heart shot vs hitting it and getting a heart shot is what annoys me. The game saying I got a brain shot but it's not a drop shot is kinda meh. It's the only game I have that punishes that by treating it like a flesh shot.

Born, raised, and still reside in NH so I was looking so forward to this map. Unfortunately I’m not finding it enjoyable. It feels like they were going for Revontuli but landed more on Hirschfelden. So much small game that you never see in the brush/foliage. Mix that with the new animal “sensitivity” they’ve added it seems like animals are spooking at 200+ yds now. I spent several hours of essentially sightseeing and listening to warning calls but not shooting much…

@@Gomozen1 can only speak for xbox. Can’t spot an animal without setting a waypoint now. Antlers are glitchy when moving near them. Harvest screen is very low light and very hard to move the animal around to inspect without it ending up upside down. Moose sound like red deer. And I’ve heard whitetail zones are missing on maps as well. Not impressed

So why are you being a troll 🤔 and I've heard from other cotw KZbinrs and they have not complained about the new map or update at all so your lying on your part. And when I claim my downed moose none of the antlers glitches out at all, actually this update fixed the problem with the missing antlers and animals glitching in the water and appearing back on land.
