Matthias he's in Dracula's castle, but he wasn't the most memorable boss of this game tbh, I don't remember his battle too well too despite defeating all bosses no damage.

In Dracula X Chronicles for PSP it's unintentionally funny that Death yells "Face me,Boy!" even if you fight him as Maria. Maybe Death needs glasses?

the story behind death originally is he's a god. so he cant die actually that's why he can revive Dracula all the time. he's a minor god but still one. course the new game out he's more of a human that became super powerful and split his soul between light and dark and the dark soul is death. I don't like the new game lore thought. from most powerful to less powerful. Castlevania castle , Dracula, Death, other arch boss. If the S.O.T.N optional boss was added in it id give him 2nd place he's more difficult then Dracula if you ask me.

Lords of Shadow is it's own cannon, since there's a lot of differences that contradict the continuity of the main games, the most notable being Allucard and Trevor Belmont being one in the same. Personally? I like Death in Lords of Shadow, simply because he is Patrick Stewart.

Terlin1466 death doesn't appear until dracula's power does, typically meaning he's been resurrected already and typically by ordinary humans. i'm actually glad you brought up this point tho. i just finished playing harmony of dissonance the other day and in that game death tries to complete bringing the castle into reality but i don't think he ever mentioned anything about actually reviving dracula. he wanted to prepare the castle for dracula but that doesn't necessarily mean that doing so would bring dracula back to the world. i could just be remembering incorrectly tho. other than that i can't think of any time death has done anything to help resurrect dracula. his role has always simply been to protect dracula and do his bidding, but he doesn't have to if dracula is not in the world to command him. so therefore he isn't obligated to help dracula resurrect unless part of his influence has reached him already, like in harmony of dissonance.
