This means that if you are very familiar with agile, you would automatically know how to navigate waterfall. Seems agile is a more sophisticated delivered in bits and pieces.

Prince 2 is a certification, not a PM methodology. It's more like a PM framework or process.

It can be either. However, most software development is done using agile frameworks.
