I am Indian American, and I grew up in Linden, NJ which had a large polish population. I lived in the apartments which used to be called the "polish project". The only word I ever learned was "dobre".

@ one day I heard a girl speaking in Polish to another woman at the store I was working and she kept agreeing and shaking her head to what the woman was saying and kept saying “dobre “. So I was naturally curious why she kept repeating “dobre”, so I asked her what it meant and she said, it meant “ Okay” I think or “ right” I guess.

Nice to see the reunion with your parents......now the kids are going to have a lovely time....as you can never punish them in presence of their grandparents......no matter what mischiefs they do......good to see aunty ( your mom prepared so many dishes for you all) .....pierogi looks very similar to momo...btw did you all cover the 20 hr road trip without halting anywhere apart from the ferry....it must be pretty straneous..... anyways take care and enjoy your stay ....

I love my home food indeed. Pierogi gołąbki bigos kiełbasa chlebek everything just taste so so good. At last I was brought up eating this food all my young life and I miss it if I don’t get it for some time. I can’t make majority of these in India due to lack of ingredients but that’s ok I also love Indian food hehe
