Does Indian Army want full time soldiers or part time mercenaries? Agniveer is creating such mercenaries (bhade ke soldiers) without motivation. This policy will destroy the plurality of religion by destroying regiments like maratha regiment, Gurkha regiment, Sikh regiment and so on. This will cause decline of ancient Indian culture and make it secular army. The word secular has its Christian roots. In Bhartiya context anything which is anti Hindu and pro Muslim or pro Christian is called secularism. These regiments were not formed by British, they were made the various Indian Army soldiers in British India. If you want to do cost cutting first remove the all the extra previlages of MLA's and MP'S in India. An Elected MLA and and Elected MP's get pension even if they don't complete 5 Years of 1 term. An Elected Member of Parliament or Member of Rajya Sabha gets 2-3 times more salary than an IAS officer with few years of Experience even they are not even one forth as talented as an IAS officer. So to conclude, please don't take our Indian Army lightly. Please give them some respect. Please run Agniveer scheme parallel to the old scheme and at least do 75 percent through old method and 25 percent through Agniveer.
